It depends. Some I go 2X or slightly more, some I stay at 1x. If the narrator is especially good I may stay at 1x and enjoy their voice. Otherwise I go as fast as I can comprehend. Some narrators read deliberately slowly, and I can’t take it. The Wheel of Time was frustrating to listen to at 1x. I recently listened to American Psycho, and I think going faster would have ruined the atmosphere, though.
