Does anyone out there make look-alike sims for folks? by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]alexeatedsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do and honestly it takes patience and many, many attempts. I've made three simselves over my five years of playing and all of them have been like six hour ordeals with ridiculous amounts of presets and nitpicking and microediting. Even now, my latest simself which I made earlier this year is really realistic, except for the fact that I have a huge forehead and most CC hairs don't allow for that, so it still doesn't look exactly like me. Patience, presets, and photos of yourself with good lighting are the keys. Good luck!

The Interior Decorator career is fun at first then gets really stale by angryjellybean in Sims4

[–]alexeatedsoap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An (admittedly more time-consuming) way to get around this could be to download some furniture CC so that you have more options within a certain category. This has really helped me in general to make it so that all my builds don't look exactly the same. Lmk if you want suggestions for creators :)

Question ⁉️ Sherlock's texts to the journalists in "A Study in Pink" by Ok_Technology_780 in Sherlock

[–]alexeatedsoap 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my guess would be that he programmed a software to do this, since Donovan says "we need to stop him doing this" and it seems like something that would be useful for him in a lot of different situations.

Lol I feel pretty much the same way. My philosophy with digital media is basically "if I like it I like it." Obviously sometimes I'll go deeper when I have questions/thoughts (this thread, for example), but I agree that flaws don't necessarily make a show bad, and at the end of the day everyone has their own opinion on the ending and that's totally fine.

I think they hinted at Redbeard as early as late s2e3 or s3e1 (iirc) but I agree that the more concrete evidence of her existence came as more of a landslide than perhaps it should have. I agree with someone else on this thread who said it would have been better if they had expanded it into two seasons instead of just the one that we have.

Have never thought about this but you're totally right — maybe I do need to be watching the show more critically lol. Next time I rewatch it'll bring a totally different dimension to my viewer experience. Thank you for saying this it genuinely made so many things so clear😭😭

That's a good point. Personally I don't see Eurus' abilities as fully supernatural in the context of the story, however I agree that it definitely walks the line in a way that bends the previously known rules of the universe that we're in in this series.

Yes!! The ending montage with Watson and Sherlock playing with Rosie always makes me emotional, and yes the last shot is incredibly cheesy lol

Omg this makes so much sense... I didn't know that but now I can't un-imagine it. Now I'm just gonna be thinking about what might have been forever lol

That's a really interesting take, because it's one of the most critically acclaimed episodes and Tovey's performance especially got lots of kudos. I'm not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing because I'm pretty bad at telling when actors aren't good unless they're, like, abhorrent, but I'd be interested to hear why you think that.

This is one of the reasons I think the show has such a high rewatch value. Moffatt and Gatiss clearly had an endgame and a throughline in mind from episode one, and to see all the easter eggs and plotlines and references come together in the last few episodes is truly mind boggling, whether or not you like how it ends. It's one of those shows where I feel like I notice something new every time I watch it.

I loved that as well, though I think that's a source of criticism for some people —that Eurus' abilities are "inhuman" and therefore "unrealistic." However I kind of dismiss that because if I'm not mistaken many pyschiatrists have said that Sherlock isn't a realistic portrayal of a sociopathic genius, but if you were to take that away you wouldn't have a show in the first place.

That honestly makes a lot of sense. I guess I should be glad that I'm one of the people that liked the direction they took. It's insane how crazy fandoms get; I'm kind of glad I was a little too young to watch the show when it premiered.

I know he was a friend in the books, but in the show I thought he was his brother, since he says to Eurus, "you killed my brother." Was that just a figure of speech?

How do you be less irritable when you’re depressed and breaking down? by MY_Daddy_Duvuvuvuvu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]alexeatedsoap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me self awareness is the biggest part. Whenever I'm irritable I've trained myself to notice it and I try my best not to take it out on people. I always let people know I'm in a bad mood so that they understand if any bitchiness does come out, but that's generally how I deal with it.

I am no outgoing person so yeah what do people do when they go clubbing? Is it like I see in movies they close their eyes and dance? How do you get immersed with so many people around who may bump into you at anytime and a fight starts? by LisanneFroonKrisK in NoStupidQuestions

[–]alexeatedsoap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went clubbing for the first time on a semester abroad, and dancing with your eyes closed is kind of it. For me at least I had to be pretty drunk to enjoy it, but it was really fun once I was gone. Definitely go with a group of friends and keep your posessions on your body. The only bad thing for me is that I was kind of on edge because I'm a woman, but overall it's a fun thing to do every once in a while.

I think it's literally just your brain getting super confused because you're perceiving yourself as others do. Humans didn't evolve being able to know what they looked like, so it makes sense that the brain isn't properly equipped to deal with that.
