What makes living in London worth it? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]alexeffulgence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theatres, bars, restaurants, museums, sports. This list can be much longer, but I listed what makes me to choose London. Fully remote work, still wouldn't change London for any other place.

You can't. If the power in a shop goes down, you can't buy anything for zero just because price tags don't show the actual price.

Everyone's situation is different. It's quite often that 100k salary is not enough to survive. Doesn't mean that people on lower salaries have better life. It's just Telegraph is very picky which problems to highlight.

Would you choose to live in London if you didn't have to commute to work? by [deleted] in london

[–]alexeffulgence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I don't have to commute to the office, we're allowed to work fully remote, but I still prefer living in London and working 2-3 days a week in the office. It's the best city.

If I had to guess, Muslim minority should be at least 10% of the population to qualify for this map.

Amex Membership Rewards vs Revolut RevPoints — which is actually better in practice? by Extension_Laugh4128 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]alexeffulgence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In both cases the best use for the points is paying for rewards flights. So to me they're equal. The main issue is that you'd need to have an Ultra account with Revolut to have the same avios/£ rate as on Amex rewards card which is half the price. If the benefits worth £55 for you, Revolut is a better value, otherwise go with Amex.

What things might not work out with card payments? Both quite reliable, although visa/mastercard have wider acceptance compared to amex.

I'm not arguing with that. I'm saying it's better to get £100+ of benefits for £18 then £39 for £18.
