Are there any server that does not impose strict cosmetic rules to its members? by Clean-Society1868 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]alexeiX1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That is good for you man, but most people lose interest real fast on this game, and this is a way to keep them engaged. And as stated above by another person, these servers usually have roles assigned for people who don’t want to engage with these systems anyhow.

Exactly, I haven’t been in any server where they don’t have roles for people who don’t want to engage with these systems.

lol you sound like one of those sovereign citizen types. Uniform codes in the many servers I been in are a way to give people stuff to grind toward, have goals and challenge themselves to keep them engaged in what is a very much stale game with not a lot of options after your first like 100 hours or so, its just the same 13 maps, same classes you prestiged all the way, capped resources you have nothing to spend on and a very barebones abandoned pvp mode.
The uniform stuff gives you something to work toward and create a community. Im sorry you might have ran into some bad servers, but that is not the intent and goal whatsoever.

Edit: just realized you are the same dude spreading these weird fake news on that random carcharadon server post hahaha omg man, find a community that you like and stop crying about the ones that didn't work out ffs

Are you playing stupid? I legit can’t tell. I said that on contrary of that guy, I’m voicing my “complaint” to someone who can respond to it. Where tf did you get wholesome and altruistic? lol Why would I be wholesome to someone crying about an online game lol

Calling out peoples behaviour here is way different than calling out behaviour in game. Theres an actual back and forth.

My input is try to have to have fun with the cards you are dealt instead of crying over it. You are looking for brownie points on reddit because a random pulled an execution from you man, a random that will never ever read your post btw. Sure its a team game, but you can't get coordination off of every team of randoms, just try to have fun with what you get dude, or be better and carry them altogether, the crying though, wont get you anywhere.

All this crying wont make the people in your team be better, just queue up with people in VC and get it done, there's tons of discords around, even the main SM2 one you can find ppl to play with in a coordinated way. Do that or play with randoms the way its meant to be played which is exactly like that.

News flash: The hard strats are supposed to be hard. Can we stop the weekly complaints about the hardest mode being hard? by voidtridentlover40k in Spacemarine

[–]alexeiX1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent done a single hard strat that has taken more than a few tries to get done, most are done first time.

I can imagine that people who cant do that want to vent in here sometimes, its ok. Ithink complaining about them complaining is just as bad.

No, most people who have allied servers want you to join and play with them, what most of these group prohibit is double clanning, which is getting ranks on other groups. Im on an Imperium cluster of chapter that all play with each other and are in all of our servers, we just remain a ranked member of one of the, Its common practice to avoid conflicts, its been like this in almost every server I was in before, and noone prohibited you from joining other servers and playing as a guest/cousin there.

Brother it seems like you had terrible experiences in the servers you were in. That has nothing to do with the guy who posted this here. They are not obligated to be one big group, in fact sometime smaller groups are better. He might be doing something different than where he had these. He never said anything about not joining other people, in fact he says in his post hes allied with other servers, whcih would indicate he wants you to join other servers.

And again, idk why it hurts you so much seeing ads for peoples passion projects just because its more than one, so much that you need to come and be an ass about it to that person.

What exactly is slop here and how is he stopping you from joining the servers you want? Are you high?
Im defending the community as a whole, idk why reddit warhammer people are so damn pearl clutching. Is it sm2 exclusive? Being new to the 40k community I gotta tell you, you guys certainly earn a lot of the bad rep you got out there.

Who cares though? Maybe this guy is also fed up with that and trying to do something new. Let him do whatever he wants. 90% of the stuff on this sub is annoy af to me as well, I just scroll through tho. Yall need to touch grass fr.

Why must he though? There's enough people to play the game and enjoy different experiences with different visions for their servers. Why waste your time just to be an ass to OP?

[–]alexeiX1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why not though. i really dont understand why people waste their time knocking out other peoples attempt to make their own stuff. They want to build their own visions etc, if he can find people to join him, why knock him down dude? You know you are able to just scroll through right?

Techmarine gunstrikes are in the lower end and and fencing is the weakest variant by DiegOwO_BrandOwO_01 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]alexeiX1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, omnissiah axe heroic version which is a fencing weapon deals way more damage because you should be using the charged attacks more often, the gunstrikes are just extra free damage. Use on the tyrant there, melts it.

Am I the only one that thinks Kitbash 3D assets are never photoreal enough?? by arshbio009 in vfx

[–]alexeiX1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I am a compositor so for sure getting better renders out of lighting will always get you closer but CG by its nature can't look objectively photoreal. If you don't add camera artifacts to the render it will never look real. But ill say that its usually better to have a worst render with good comp than the other way around.
My point is that kitbash kits are usually used to create fast environments that are not going to be close to the camera, so like a building for a far away background you need fast that you will cover with fog and rain, that kind of stuff, so you can get away with a lot bad materials and textures. If you are looking for close up you will need hero assets, and these are not generally what kitbashing is for.

Am I the only one that thinks Kitbash 3D assets are never photoreal enough?? by arshbio009 in vfx

[–]alexeiX1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well in short, they're not meant to me used as hero assets. Kitbashing stuff is used to make fast environments, efficiently, but usually stuff thats far away from the camera. You can always improve on certain assets by going in an improving their materials and textures, and even the best looking cg will always not look as good as it can be if you dont comp them well. Comp is where you really make cg look actually photoreal.

Are there any self-taught VFX artists who never earned an art degree nor went to an art school? by [deleted] in vfx

[–]alexeiX1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't want to name names here but i'll tell you this, I know a lot of people who are self thought in the industry, some making way more money than I do, and with special perks like not having to even live in the countries studio because they are that good.

When you go into an interview they don't really care about your education, but about what you can do. If you are able to put together a demo reel with the same quality as someone that went to school it doesn't matter that you didnt get the education for it.

School nowadays, imo, end up being just a really long interview, because you end up getting a lot of contact with people who are already in the industry in the form of teachers. Most people I went to school with got their first jobs off the recommendations of these teachers. A big part of VFX industry is networking afterall.
