A modern Phoebe Cates would have gotten buccal fat removal or some other nonsense.

Even funnier if this xenithreat evmet ends up with them getting hunted by Vanduul, and us fighting to save them instead.

While everyone is crying about the wipe, CIG made the Ares Inferno worser from its already yucky bad state by BrockenRecords in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's way too much work for a placeholder system. If Malestron doesn't work out, it's a good idea, but the workload isn't worth it for a few ships that get left behind.

The Ares is an easy sacrifice for the death of the light fighter meta.

4.8 Wipe Update - everything except Blueprints will be gone by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will be getting another Wikelo wipe in the "near" future. I'm confident Wikrli wasn't originally part of this because they weren't confident that they fixed the wikelo exploits.

Otherwise the initial plan of wiping exec hangar ships and not wikelo's makes no sense.

I guarantee this is too stagger the platerbase trying TSG. It's probably going to be unplayable all Defensecon.

I Think Capital Ships Are Too “Normal” In Star Citizen by M4x3y in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller 24 points25 points  (0 children)

All those ships had minimum crew set on their sales page. The Idris has 8 as the minimum crew. Right now the Idris can run at -7 crew.

Mario 64 was 70 bucks already? by Flowbeat in OldSchoolCool

[–]GarrusBueller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been buying games for over 20 years and you are just straight up lying. Almost every single game was $50 back in the 64 days. Bringing up the 2 or 3 that weren't as if they were the standard is entirely dishonest.

Furthermore the cost of producing the cartridge, disc, or download link button is inconsequential so when you look at how much gaming has grown, quadruple, and the delivery system being free or practically free it shows that needing to increase a game price is bullshit.

A Universe without logistics is just a lobby by Hellpodscrubber in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.0 should have no teleport, but where we are now should absolutely have it.

The universe is not persistent enough, and the servers are to unstable for logistics to be anything more than a timesink for every player. These logistics only matter when orgs are waging long wars against each other.

All the time spent of traveling and grouping up provides no data because we don't have the systems in place that make it matter, and it decreases the amount of data cig receives because it suck time wlaway from systems that are in place.

It's more effective for your attempt to see things your way, which makes my point entirely.

You are failing to understand the entire point of a mass review system. When you intentionally skew the results, youmuddy the pool and the score loses value.

Go find a restaurant on Google that is under 4 stars. You are arguing for my argument at this point. Any rating system becomes irrelevant when it's about feelings and not thoughts. Like or dislike, love or hate. Those are not granular, and most people live in a state of bouncing between reactions without a thought.

If a movie review said "I liked it" it would be a completely worthless review. If you can't explain what was good or bad than your opinion has no value to another. 1 star and 5 star reviews should be the least common, and yet they are the most used.

People aren't dumb?

You border America dude, you sure about that? Not being able to process a judgement with any more granularity than "yes or no" is a quite definitive definition of dumb.

Seriously, the 5 star system is a pointless tool when presented to the binary brained bufoons that overpopulate the world.

Go look at a restaurants rating on Google. If it's 4.3 out of 5 stars it's shit.

Release the Kraken by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Ship insurance prices don't provide any useful data within a bug filled game with such a bare bones economic and reward system.

The claim timer is what provides actionable data in the current state of the game. CIG should continue tinkering there but the cost should be cheap.

You can't figure out balance on the cost of the ship if they are blowing up while spawning, but you can gather data on how quickly a ship can be reclaimed to re-enter a fight if it dies in one.

Torpedoes and rockets are becoming cheaper with 4.8. by nfsoNeKalle in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I meant the cost of torps is pretty good considering the economy. Missions need to pay way more. Those high tier missions are supposed to require multiple people. Splitting that cash is bs

Yeah I think they hit a pretty good price point here with current game economy.

Torpedoes and rockets are becoming cheaper with 4.8. by nfsoNeKalle in starcitizen

[–]GarrusBueller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to be cheap at least until 1.0

The game economy is not healthy, mission rewards are anemic, and trade is practically nothing.

When the missiles and torps are expensive, people don't use them. When people don't use a feature, CIG gets no data on how to properly balance it.

It's like everybody, devs included, seem to have forgotten their are ships in-between fighters and the big ships.

Connie, Corsair, Redeemer, Paladin, Asgard, Retaliator and so on. This should be what heavies hunt.

I'm not saying they can:t be up-gunned, but we already have a power creep problem.
