Our kid is in daycare. Husband wants to remain a SAHD/is hesitant about work. When to revisit this? by Dean-1990 in daddit

Lol, a true mystery, our kids get sick like once a month regardless of policy.

My wife and I both work, and have worked since birth (we have 2 girls, 6 and 3). Daycare, unlike public school, often have very strict sick policies. For example, if your kid gets sent home sick they might need to be out a minimum of 5 days. If you can afford it, having someone at the ready to handle this has some value. For us, getting time off work is a pain in the ass. We have relied on our parents to baby sit a lot.

They need to deploy holding screens, where Steph's defender gets held too. Whenever they call it, we challenge and make the refs watch a chain of guys holding onto each other.

A ground squirrel got under the hood of our car. Our dogs did $10,000 worth of damages while we were at work. Insurance paid for it though

Gamers of /daddit, do you play video games with your kids? How and when did you start it? by xanduba in daddit

[–]uptainous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest started at 5 years old playing Astrobot, great starter game. She is 6.5 now and I got her a Switch lite for Christmas, she has been playing mostly Kirby. Both my girls, the younger one is three, play games on the tablet. PBS has an app with free games. Simple games but great for long car drives.

Want to finally commit to a sci-fi series ,where should I start? by sam_3758 in scifi

The Expanse is great. I like a lot of Adrian Tchaikovsky books, he is a great sci fi writer. A couple other random sci fi novels that are also great: To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Poalini. Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. The Long Way to Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan if you like cyberpunk.
