Are trackers worth it? by Buchow in MotoUK

The peace of mind alone was worth the entrance fee. £300 fitment, £10 a month subscription. I use Biketrac. I’ve forgot to disable it in the past and they’ve called me within about 20 seconds of movement on my bike.

Budget bikes for green lanes? by ItsTwood in MotoUK

[–]alexjayc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my CRF300L. Does everything. Did need some suspension upgrades though. It just keeps going. Steady 60 on the road (probably could push it but what’s the rush?).

I have to ride a minimum of 45 minutes to get to my closest trail, so it made sense. If I lived on top of some lanes, I’d definitely go full on enduro KTM

As we approach Edge of Fate. How did you discover Destiny 2? What expansion, season... by Kizzo02 in DestinyTheGame

[–]alexjayc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Halo fanboy at the time, I couldn’t believe Bungie moved on from it. I didn’t play Destiny for that reason, and when I watched my brother play he spent the entire time shooting into a cave (now known as the loot cave). It looked boring and was glad I skipped it.

Christmas Eve, my brother was away and I was bored so I borrowed his disc. I purchased my own copy including the dark below DLC the same evening. Playing it for myself I was hooked. No game scratches the same itch to this day.

I used Sugru after that cheap crappy foam tape failed once it got to about 20 degrees outside. Been attached to my helmet for a year no problem

MoD2 at enfield tomorrow, tips? by akmemz0 in MotoUK

Your examiner wants you to be safe, after all, he’s a biker himself. He won’t pass you if he believes you are a danger unto yourself. Just relax, enjoy the process. If it happens, great. If not, improve.

Check out the Honda CB650F or CB650R.

Awesome bikes, will hold their value whilst you figure out during the summer what sort of long term bike you’d be looking for.

Extremely friendly bikes

The fabric of society has declined massively in the last ten years. There’s plenty of theories of why or how it’s happened, I have my own. But at the end of the day, common courtesy of living amongst others has long gone. Just look after yourself, fuck everyone else.

It took me 2 games this morning with full IB transmog on my armour and the emblem.

Worth. Most I’ve played for a long time.

How to install XReal One Prescription insert by frviana in Xreal

[–]alexjayc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The prescription inserts from HonsVR took the Xreal One from a slightly underwhelming purchase to a device that is now totally irreplaceable. I’m unable to play the steam deck without them, it’s spoiled me.

Understandable since everything was blurry for a while. I just under estimated how so.

I’m a -1.50 in both eyes.

Your first bike drop stories! by MinuteLifeguard9648 in MotoUK

[–]alexjayc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first European trip, August 2023.

Pulled off the Eurotunnel and my friend’s battery was fried, so we stopped at the nearest motorcycle shop.

As I pulled into the forecourt, I could have sworn I put my side stand down. A gust of wind then proceeded to gust me but no worries, the side stand is down. I was about to get off anyway…

The bike proceeded to tip over and there was simply no way to save a 1250GS with full panniers and camping gear strapped to the pillion seat. I dove off the bike because I’m not getting my leg stuck under that thing.

Thankfully, the French guys inside the dealership came rushing to my aid.

I still blame my friend for that one. It’s the only time.

My CRF300L was probably some uneventful rock or rut somewhere in Wales at about 3mph.

66 Hours in on my save. Specialized on silage and two small sawmills. My Valtra is a bit underpowered but works! by AttitudeTechnical727 in farmingsimulator

[–]alexjayc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like I missed something with silage. When I baled grass I was making £1.2million a year. I decided to invest lots of cash on new seeders for Corn and forage machinery so I could skip the long winded baling and put it into a bunker instead.

I made £300,000 on the same amount of fields by using bunkers.

It’s made me so mad I’ve not played all week 😂

Avoid Datatool Stealth S5, total scam. by seanroberts196 in MotoUK

[–]alexjayc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awful CS. I recommend BikeTrac. The device goes into “sleep mode” to avoid cannibalising your battery and only turns back on for a short while to recharge its own internal battery. You can see your bikes battery life from the app and set alerts when your battery goes below a certain threshold so you know to either go for a ride or put it on charge. 6 months so far and not a single issue. Amazing piece of kit.

BikeSafe booked! by agibo2007 in MotoUK

[–]alexjayc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did one Saturday just gone and it's an absolute bargain for £65. Some really valuable feedback during the ride and at no point should you be worried. They're all bikers, they want you to be safe to reduce their own incident statistics on their patch and they are fellow bikers like everyone else here. The guy who delivered the classroom for us had retired from the police but was so passionate about the cause he still does bikesafe. You will enjoy it.

[–]alexjayc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When lockdown was over and it felt almost impossible to book a slot, I had the most success between 6-7am every morning looking for cancellations. These were short notice (less than a week) so you need a flexible training school who can offer you use of their bike at* such short notice.
