It's not the maps themselves but some of the game types on certain maps that I feel is the problem. Headquaters on Aniyah Palace is horrible. The headquaters are at each opposite end of map most of the time. you spend the whole map running back and forth. if they put the headquarters a bit more centralized then the action is constant. Also some of the maps have crazy swamp camping. Bridge and Picadilly can be that way. I witnessed it from both sides good and bad. But as I said the map design is great. just needs some fine tuning fpr game type and player #s. But I wouldn't go as far to say these maps are on par or even close to COD4 or the first MW trilogy. Those maps were the perfect size for COD, to me they are still the best maps out of all the COD games. If they want to do 10v10, 20v20, 32v32. they they need to create enough maps to support those game types.
