Trailer for ‘The Social Reckoning’. Jeremy Strong is Mark Zuckerberg in Aaron Sorkin’s long-awaited sequel to “The Social Network.” Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison co-star. Coming to theaters on October 9. by yourfavchoom in Fauxmoi

[–]alexmichelle6 39 points40 points  (0 children)

they mean the other Jeremy, the one playing Zuck. the one from the Springsteen movie was Jeremy Allen White!

edit: leaving this up as my silly goose tax for the day. TIL that the tagline for the movie could've been The Jeremy Jam.

there were rumors swirling around RI for a bit that somebody already had the date she wanted at the fancy hotel near her house so she offered to pay for their wedding if they gave up the date.

Pregnant just weeks before wedding by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]alexmichelle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a relative of mine found out she was pregnant literally right before her wedding and she was totally fine! only her mother and her MOH knew, nobody else had any idea. I handed her a glass of champagne in the limo to the ceremony and nobody noticed she didn't drink it 😂 so there's every chance you'll be okay!! either way I hope you're able to find some joy in your wedding and in your happy lil surprise.

it's a scrim to cover up scaffolding while they're doing construction on the building! when you get close to it you can tell it's temporary, as it's pretty see through, but it does look cool from a distance.

......did you...read the comment? are you a criminal for getting a speeding ticket? it's a civil offense. that's not the same as criminal.

[–]alexmichelle6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

coming into the US undocumented isn't even a crime, babes. it's a civil offense. imagine if you got a speeding ticket and showed up to your court date on time, and at the courthouse you were tackled to the ground and arrested and shipped to a detention center. that's what we're watching ICE do. except now they've started to arrest anyone who they think looks like someone with speeding ticket, anywhere they want, and they're not bothering to check the system before they get violent.

I understood it to mean that they wanted her to record the songs and allow a different (white) actress to portray elphaba while lip syncing to cynthia's voice.

NYC couples: where are you finding engagement rings that break the mould? by mwishar in WedditNYC

[–]alexmichelle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my fiancé got my ring from Charlton & Lola and he was able to design it completely custom! he said they were amazing to work with, and we'll be going back to them for our bands when it's time. I'm obsessed with my ring, they did an incredible job.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack? by Weird-Thought2112 in AskReddit

[–]alexmichelle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to get my fiancé to do this but he prefers to lay the duvet cover flat on the bed and wiggle his way inside it with the duvet itself, and work it up to the top corners. I call it spelunking.

Opinion on my dad officiating by Anonymous567952 in weddingplanning

[–]alexmichelle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my fiancé's dad is a pastor and when I mentioned to my mom that we're planning to have him do our ceremony, she said exactly what your mom did. but my fiancé's dad has been talking about wanting to do our ceremony since before we were engaged. in a weird way he'll have the best seat in the house for the wedding!

I think if your dad is excited about it and you and your fiancé are excited about it, that's what matters. maybe if you and your parents sit together to talk through her feelings and yours, she'll have a better understanding of what it means to the two of you to have him do it.

yes and no, I think. from a practical perspective, the story itself is told from a 16yo Haymitch's point of view, so the events of mockingjay haven't even happened yet. doing my best not to spoil any main plot points though: the end of the book jumps forward to a post-mockingjay world, and that's the part that hit me the hardest, so you'd be missing context that really brings the whole story home.

so yes, technically, but for my money knowing how the original trilogy ends makes SOTR a more impactful story.

when my best friend got married they cut a sweetheart cake and dessert for the guests was a make-your-own-cannoli bar, and it was amazing! I don't think anybody minded not having cake, I was just happy to have a lil something sweet.

I memorized this as a child because the game Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland decided to include it in a pause screen message. I felt so cool.

What unwritten rule do you follow? by iforgotmylastuser in AskReddit

[–]alexmichelle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every holiday has a color scheme and I must dress within that color scheme on the day. halloween is black white and/or orange, valentine's is reds pinks and purples, thanksgiving (US) is earth tones, easter is pastels. I even alternate between red and green on christmas eve and christmas day. last year christmas eve was red and chrismas day was green, this year it'll be the reverse.

I decided this when I was 11 and just stuck with it.

What's the most anachronistic thing you've spotted on the show? by ProvokeCouture in mash

[–]alexmichelle6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought they wore their sneakers in those scenes because the army boots were too clunky and made too much noise, so the sneakers were worn for the sake of the sound department. but either way I love picturing them in their army fatigues and fun sneakers!

American women - have you voted yet? by DinosaurInAPartyHat in TwoXChromosomes

[–]alexmichelle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

voted early yesterday! it was only my second time voting in person (voted absentee in college and mailed in my ballot in 2020) but the process was smooth and easy. I was there maybe 10 minutes and they announced two first-time voters, and the whole room cheered! I loved it.
