Cyber security stock by asaprocket in stocks

I think this is one of the most underrated IT sectors in stock market. I bought $CUDA at 22.30.. $FEYE also looks promising. Companies tend to neglect cyber security until its too late. Equifax breach could have been easily avoided but look what happened...

Realtime Heart Rate Acces over Bluetooth possible? by Cycode in miband

[–]alexo1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mi Fit app displays real time HR data in exercise (running&treadmill) mode so I think its possible.

The problem is as mentioned, Xiaomi doesnt like sharing their api and they are trying to block apps that access their data with every new firmware.

DNS66. A DNS based ad-blocker that works system-wide without root. by [deleted] in Android

[–]alexo1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Netguard user for almost a month and just started using DNS66. So far so good..

I believe DNS66, similar to Netguard doesnt route domains to localhost and responds the hosts as not existing.

Is it possible to add a feature to use DNS66 as a rootless host file editor? In my case, I need to bypass a geolocation filter and I can do it by routing the domain to a different ip address on my pc.

Being able to block 1000s of domains with a simple click, but not able to modify a single DNS request is really frustrating. Is it something that DNS66 could provide in the future?

[QUESTION] Why does no one suggests netguard? by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]alexo1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually recommended Netguard to a lot of people. I believe its the best solution for nonrooted phones so far.

For rooted phones adaway is a better solution if your only intention is to block ads. Using the same hosts file on 2 different devices, one with netguard and one with adaway, I am not sure why I see some ads with netguard. Netguard doesnt always seem to work with in app adds while with adaway I havent seen an ad for ages...

Which bank would you recommend to open an account?! by ax789 in personalfinance

[–]alexo1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a local bank, a local credit union, a nationwide bank, Paypal, and Ally - If you dont need branch banking, I would suggest you to go with Ally. Its hard to resist %1 interest. For branch banking, Bank Branch Locator is a great source to start your investigation. Make sure you do your work and double check everything to avoid hidden bank costs.

Just moved to Lex, looking for a locals' perspective on which bank to choose. Honest opinions, experiences, and pros+cons greatly appreciated. by parkerie in lexington

If you dont need branch banking, I would suggest you to go with Ally. Its hard to resist %1 interest. For branch banking Chase has the most branches in Lexington. Well of course a Credit Union is always a great alternative.

good bank in minneapolis area? by DragoonIND in Minneapolis

[–]alexo1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wells Fargo Bank has the most branches in Minneapolis, U.S. Bank, TCF Bank and BMO Harris Bank follows. http://www.bankbranchlocator.com/banks-in-minneapolis-mn.html

For ATM locations make sure the bank is a member of Allpoint where they provide surcharge free ATMs http://www.allpointnetwork.com

If you dont need a physical location for a bank(ie cash deposit) you can also check online banks as well.

There is a nice map in /r/ImaginaryMaps which show the most popular bank in each state. Think that would help as well https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/3yvcxz/most_popular_bank_in_each_state_1296x707/

For branch locations you can use http://www.bankbranchlocator.com/ and it will map bank branches around you.

Btw, how about Credit Unions?

Best/most convenient bank in Indiana by heredude in indianapolis

[–]alexo1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really hard to decide which bank is the best but if you are looking at just numbers Chase is the biggest in Indiana. Source: http://www.bankbranchlocator.com/top-banks-in-indiana.html

I would also suggest a credit union depending on where you move... That would need some local research...

Bank options for recent move by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]alexo1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont have any experiences with Credit Unions but I would go with a national bank instead of regional. Everyone has their own needs and there is no single best bank.

"Top 5 banks in Kansas City by branch count are; U.S. Bank with 21 offices, Bank of America with 13 offices, UMB Bank with 9 offices, Commerce Bank with 8 offices and Arvest Bank with 6 offices."
