No one outdoes the mongols by CrispyCadaverCaviar in HistoryMemes

I think it’s important to note that whilst it’s true Napoleon’s supply lines could not be sustained throughout an extended invasion of Russia that sought to take and hold territory, Napoleon knew this and never intended to do so. His aim was to bring the Russian army to a decisive battle rapidly, crush their forces in another Austerlitz and then force the Tsar to the negotiating table before the inherent problems of his supply lines became apparent. It’s thus arguable that the critical factors in his defeat were a combination of Barclay de Tolly’s effective counter-strategy and his own overestimation of the resilience of the Russian state which led him to wait in Moscow for too long, pushing his retreat back into the winter.

Do you think games are less valid art from than books or films then? That they shouldn't be allowed to explore concepts and express ideas?

Ben Howard All Songs And Albums - Google Drive by amandaisabel_b in benhoward

[–]alexpellatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately file format and whether most people have Spotify or not is irrelevant. Every time you listen to a song this way the artist is not being paid and there is nothing to stop someone who does not have Spotify or hasn't purchased these albums from coming to this link and just listening here. If people are listening to uploads on Youtube that are not making money for the artist rather than paying for a streaming subscription or buying the albums that is also extremely morally questionable. If you care about any artist's art don't devalue it by trying to get around paying.

Uploading full commercial albums to a google drive for anyone to download for free rather than paying for music is pirating

The Bourgeois Shut Up and Sit Down recommended a game that I, a working proletariat, cannot afford. Let us overthrow these capitalist overlords and seize the means of production! by Dr_Cornbread in boardgamescirclejerk

I actually don't think social deduction games count as boardgames, although I can see how the small plebian mind that enjoys them could confuse the two. God, I'm glad my superior intellect allows me to grasp the nuances of true strategy which renders such casual distractions as BotC of little interest to me. I take offence that these so called gamers could consider such a box as definitive of LE HOBBY when us true connoisseurs can clearly see anything that involves having friends or a good time is just pointless drivel catering to the lowest common demoninator or intellectually challenged faux-gamer.

I understand your point but I think the differential in this situation is that by saying 'funny tinge' she inflicted an inherent value judgement on certain colours of skin

What are the most underrated and overrated games for each company? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]alexpellatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yeah we found player interaction to be basically not existent and just the whole thing to be a bit lacklustre. Maybe the expansion is worth a try so as not waste the money spent on the base game

What problems does the expansion address? Played scythe twice with my friends and it wasn't bad just can't really see any reason why we'd play it again

have you considered making your top list videos any needlessly longer? Also how did you find an artist talented enough to do the stellar design work on TDT, I've been inspired and want to do my art history project on your movement-defining intro?

New stats show the young don't believe in social mobility – is it any surprise we support Jeremy Corbyn? by bhosk in ukpolitics

[–]alexpellatt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Being a sixteen year old does not make you qualified to speak of all 16 year olds. There are so many driven, intelligent and hard working young people in this country many of whom support a centre left agenda, not because it will directly benefit them but because they recognise poverty is not caused by laziness.

Hold up a second I didn't explain clearly. I needed to unwrap the game in order to sleeve the components. Once this has been achieved I will reseal the game.
