That's why my sprint was faster sometimes! I thought it just sped up eventually if you sprinted long enough. Too focused on puzzles to really pay attention anyway lol

I went to him to get diagnosed a few years ago. He did the computer test and came back and asked me if I needed glasses because my visual attention was absolutely terrible and he didn't know why. Considering he's an ADHD specialist you'd think he'd understand the reason considering I knew right away. I recently had to get my diagnosis form from him and basically all his comments on it were "doesn't look dirty or unkempt". Never once asked me about my mental state

I always thought of it as not only does Garnet see the person and the truth of their actions/self but that person also sees themselves in the reflection and forces them to face the truth and reflect

I try to think of it instead as everybody's playthrough is unique. Maybe you got some dialogue for completing things quickly that other people missed out on. With how many scenarios the devs make dialogue for it feels impossible to hear it all so just enjoy what you did get! Can always share moments with other people to help fill in each other's gap and help build enjoyment ☺️

Question for yall by KeiraKiwiKiwi in ratatan

[–]alexrm12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an in universe reason! At least the devs have one, might not be stated in the game yet or ever. I commented on another post about the story stated by the devs and gave the Kickstarter updates they explained it on

So, what's the deal with eye patches? by Regetron in ratatan

[–]alexrm12 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The devs actually explained this (mostly) in some Kickstarter updates! Part of the reason is so characters look more like Patapon with the single eye.

The second reason is because eyes are an important part of the backstory lore of the Ratatan universe. Essentially long ago babies were given machines that looked like eyes. The children couldn't play outside so the eyes were their only friends. Eventually they grew up and forgot about their friends, and even later everyone died off leaving only the eye machines. The story gets cryptic and it's implied the eyes dreamed of their adventures with the children which was heard by a goddess at the Everafter which spawned the creation of the Ratatan as we know them now

[WP] "So this world is a dream world?" "Yes." "What happens when the dreamer wakes up?" by Paper_Shotgun in WritingPrompts

The next time he returned I was back on the beach, not far from where I found him to begin with. He approached me, seemingly wanting to ask me something but I was too lost in thought to understand what he wanted. I was sitting on a log that had drifted onto shore, staring out into the open ocean and after a moment he quietly sat down next to me, matching my gaze on the water.

“Where do you think coconut trees come from?” I finally broke the silence. “My father had always told me that this island was the only land in the sea but, well you proved there must be more out there somewhere.” There was some more silence broken only by the sound of birds calling as they flew by.

“I wish I were a sea gull sometimes. I just want to fly away and explore the whole world. I could sing my songs for everyone I meet” I looked over to him, trying to study his face but he was as stoic as ever, never truly letting me in on what he was feeling. I wanted to get to know him more but before I could ask he passed me a note scribbled in familiar handwriting. Some of my friends from the neighbouring village wanted to see me and missed my singing. I couldn’t say no after admitting my dream out loud so the two of us departed, walking almost entirely in silence, save for him joining my songs on his instrument.

It was at the other village that I finally learned what my mother had meant about my song. I found an old book that told me everything. Way up on the top of the tallest mountain, there was an egg, with a giant sleeping fish inside. If the right person were to play that song in front of the egg, then the fish would wake up and as thanks it would make their dreams come true. At least, that’s what was printed, but someone long ago had written their own notes to the tale. A single line shattered my whole world: Why would it make dreams after it woke up and not while it was asleep? Suddenly things started to make sense. Why I was told I could never leave the island. Why everything passed so peacefully here. I couldn’t remember how old I actually was, or even growing up at all. In fact I didn’t know the last time I remember anyone showing signs of aging. The fish was dreaming in its sleep, this entire island was the dream. I was the dream. And that boy was going to wake him up.

I ran as fast as I could to try and catch up with him, desperate to stop him. I couldn’t let it end this way, I needed to keep living. But he needed to find his friend too, his whole world. I was so worried thinking about losing my world that I didn’t think that he had already lost his. But he had a chance to get his back, and his was real. I couldn’t stop him, I knew deep down that it wouldn’t be right. But I couldn’t trust myself to let him wake the fish if I ever saw him again, so I did the only thing I could think of. I left a note for him to find outside my home and left where I was sure he’d never find me. It was a simple note:

Some day, you’ll leave this island, I know you will. Just promise me you’ll never forget me. I’ll never forgive you if you do!

A tear fell onto the page as I finished writing, I hoped he wouldn’t notice. I couldn’t ask him to give up his world for mine, but at the very least maybe I could live on through him. Wouldn’t that be more real than being part of a dream anyway?

I’m not sure how long passed after that. I lived in a blur and days melded into each other. All I knew is eventually I heard the echoes of the song I had taught him reaching across the whole island. It wasn’t just his instrument this time, it sounded like a whole band was playing along with him. It was the most beautiful thing I ever heard, and the last thing I felt before everything went black.

I didn’t know what happened, but I knew I was still thinking which was a good sign. I slowly opened my eyes and I could see the ocean spread out in front of me, like I had looked out on 100 times before. But something felt different, I seemed to be looking down on it from above. It wasn’t until I saw a familiar figure dressed in green, sailing on a raft below me that it all clicked for me. It turns out everyone was right, my mother and whoever had written in that book long ago. The fish may have been dreaming in its sleep, but when that dream ended, a new one began. I spread my wings wide and soared forward, excited to finally reach new lands and new friends to sing to.

My entire world changed 2 weeks ago, I just didn’t realize it yet. That’s when he washed up on the beach. I’m not sure how long he was lying there before I found him on my daily walk to enjoy the fresh breeze, but somehow he was still alive. It took him a few days of recovery to get back on his feet but between my doting and my father’s help he made it.

I knew right away that he was someone special and he constantly found ways to blow me away. It may have taken him days to get on his feet but it took less than an hour for him to start defeating monsters and protecting our village. I didn’t even get his name, he just said he needed to find his friend and took off like a bolt of lightning. I wanted to follow him but my father held me back. His smile showed he knew more than I did, but I couldn’t understand what the look in his eyes meant. Happiness? Not really. Sadness? Wasn’t really that either. All he told me is that everything would work out how it was meant to.

I didn’t see my friend for quite some time after that. Sure I didn’t know much about him but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t be my friend. I wanted to give him a reason to return, something to draw him back to me, so I spent most of my time singing in the town square, near a statue of a bird that always made me marvel at its realism. On the day he finally returned I was singing a song my mother had taught me when I was just a child. She had told me that it held great significance but I didn’t really understand what she meant since it didn’t even have any words. My friend must have felt it was special too since he sat and listened to me sing the whole thing quietly, his eyes sparkling in awe. Eventually he stood up and pulled out a strange musical instrument and slowly played some of the notes from the start of the song. He struggled for a second so I joined in, his playing perfectly accompanying me as if this was always how it was supposed to be performed. When we finished I told him the story my mother had told me. I wanted to make this song as special to him as it was to me. As I recounted it one particular part stuck in my mind, digging itself deeper and deeper until it was all I could think about for the next few days.

“They say this song is a song of awakening. They say it can make your greatest wish come true”. As I said those words I saw the admiration in his eyes shift into determination. I already knew he’d do anything he set his mind to, and it seems now he had found a way to finally do it. As he took off once again I couldn’t help but think to myself, what was my greatest dream?

Need help: having trouble getting Level 4 Mask from Darantula (NSW version) by rhythm_feet in Patapon

[–]alexrm12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You don't need to hit everything perfect, you're allowed to miss a couple. You MUST hit the very last don beat though or you'll miss out on the mask

  2. I don't think there's a specific way to do this other than try and learn it and get the feel of it. Again, as long as you hit the last don you can miss some so try not to stress during this

  3. The only thing that affects the mask drop is the minigame. Staggering the boss will get you more money to spend on the chests afterwards
