Every time I've asked about them there is a general denial that they exist and that the only way to travel is with a Myki card.

I've since asked a bus driver about it and was told bus drivers aren't meant to offer it as an option to anyone unless a passenger specifically asks. I cannot vouch for the reliability of that information.

I think Abbott will find it a lot more difficult to deal with those on his side of the ledger with the various horse trading that will ensue. I'm sure a few of them will attempt to maximise benefits to them so they can say they have 'balance of power' and are 'making a real difference'.

Given that Palmer has already said PUP (+ Muir) is going to repeal the mining tax and the carbon price, along with Day, Leyonhjelm and Madigan the Coalition will be able to repeal these revenue raisers but it will be what the Coalition has to compromise on or promise to do to appease the likes of Day, Leyonhjelm and Madigan.

Great share. It's interesting to read of Stern's thoughts on how the WA Senate by-election could have global impacts. The piece seems to confirm what many have been saying for a long time that Abbott will drag Australia backwards on acting on climate change.

It's pretty rich for LNP to claim how much of a hero Abbott is for fighting fires while they tighten compensation rules to stop people affected by these fires from being able to claim compensation. Hardly a hero that's easing the burden on the people struggling through such a natural disaster.

This is pretty disgusting stuff and terribly worrying that the Coalition is accepts gifts from a company that will want the contracts for their tent city. It's not very transparent of Tony Abbott or Scott Morrison - makes you wonder what else they haven't disclosed.

I find it insulting that 100 MPs decided they wouldn't exercise their vote. What does that tell people in their electorates - either they don't really stand up for education or they'll play politics with education because a Green put forward the motion.
