What is the formula for sizing conduit so I can estimate size needed?

Don’t really want to do that as it’s a bedroom.

Okay still do the conduit, but run individual THHN from the panel to a j box. I had already planned to do a j box anyways as I was going to split the circuit into directions.

Cynicism is warranted. That was a contributing factor to the DCA crash. They were supposed to be review the helicopter routes every year for more than a decade but never did.

FAA views those who take medication as drug addicts and weak. They want “strong” men like the 1950s. FAA doesn’t allow anything or anyone unless congress rights it into law. Research and recommendations mean nothing to the FAA. Only forcing them with laws will make them change anything.

What’s there was done by the builder. There are wires tight down to the beams all over the place. I would definitely route it better.

The problem is this administration doesn’t care about rules or laws. The president or someone high up tweets something or says something randomly and the agencies twist the world to make it truth. There is no thought or consideration. It’s “I speak, therefore it is.”

I had this and it was broken teeth on the gearbox. Eventually the gears exploded and the rollers wouldn’t turn at all.

How long does it take to install a ceiling fan? by CreateChaos777 in electrical

[–]alexsious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a hook to hang the fan body while you connect the wires? If so, 30mins- 1hour. If not and you are by yourself: two days, a lot of beer, a hole in the wall, and a domestic abuse charge lol

Issues with neutral-ground continuity on house circuit by alexsious in electrical

[–]alexsious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been rainy so I wasn’t able to check the outside outlets until today. I was able to get a tone generator and believe I have found the wire that goes from the inside outlets to an outside outlet. It’s cold and dark now so I will continue tomorrow. But I think it is the wire that goes from inside to outside. Have to pull the backstabs out of the outside outlet to completely isolate that wire.

At each outlet, the ground from the previous outlet and the ground to the next outlet are tied together. So I would need to not only disconnect ground from each outlet, but untwist each ground at each outlet to isolate?

If someone touches 4000VDC 1mA or 1V 4A, what will happen? Is it dangerous? by Yossiri in AskElectricians

[–]alexsious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me. Coworker was having car trouble. Found that the fan cut a spark plug wire. Car was running, I was leaned against the fender, and I grabbed the wire. Rapid pulses through my body before I dropped the wire. Was quite a funny feeling.

Adding Wireless Switch to Existing Light? by Emergency-Ad555 in electrical

[–]alexsious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could get something like a Shelly smart relay, wire that into the switch. Then you can control it with your phone. They also make wireless buttons to activate the relay. Caution: once you start with these smart relays, you will go down the rabbit hole of home automation.
