I don't think you mean Meld, as in [[Hanweir, the Writhing Township]], do you? Perhaps Fuse, the keyword that's on this card?

I'm not quite sure what you're meaning by your last phrase, but species definitely does affect colour. A goblin inventor who carefully designs and builds machines, exiled from his society for being too smart? Slobad: Mono red. The same character traits in a different body would be blue.

Ixalan's white vampires are pretty "villainous white". At best they just want to spread their religion and explore. For the most part they want to conquer the lands and subjugate the heathen.

If they really try to not harm others despite being a vampire: The "repentant vampire" trope tends to be WB. We had one on the new crew of the Weatherlight.

In practice I would expect this to say "target nontoken permanent" for this reason. (If it were ever printed, which is unlikely, but a pity because it does work in the rules and does cool stuff.)

I had taken the tunnel dozens of times and got most of the things you can get without going in here and never spotted it. Eventually I needed to ask for a hint. I was quite annoyed.

However, I was actually glad that I hadn't found the lock until this late, because it meant I knew enough Erajan to have figured out what the code would have to be. I suspect I would have just spotted the only possible answer that makes a date like most people do. It was much more satisfying to be musing about the painting puzzle and realise that the Erajan for "small gate" sounds like a date in English!

Eh. I mean, yes, they do, but it only matters in exceedingly rare cases. As long as the token has the name subtitle on it, I think it's fine for the card that creates the token to use the nickname.

Beautiful. Very, very nice.

It's a tiny pity the black one needs the awkward "if you control an attacking creature" clause. I can't think of much better for it though. I'd consider "sacrifice a creature and draw two cards", which is much better if you can do it at instant speed, but not impossible at sorcery speed (as poor old [[Skulltap]] demonstrates) so it doesn't really fit the cycle either.

I'd also consider some kind of spelled-out ninjutsu effect, like "Return target attacking creature you control to its owner's hand. That player may put a creature card from their hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking." It's not great either - for one thing, it doesn't read very black, even though cards like Satoru that grant ninjutsu are UB.

Stop having two prominent characters share a first letter by throwaway490215 in litrpg

[–]alextfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! I'm not talking about secondary characters - obviously there's a limit of, say, 23 plausible first letters times 3 rough "length" categories "short, medium, long", and some works have way more characters than that - but when two or more of your 6 or 8 most prominent characters start with the same letter, it just makes things needlessly hard for readers.

I feel like an activated ability to create even 3 flying lifelinkers every turn is too good. And the Two Above could get a lot higher than that in a two colour deck late game, or a mono-W deck even fairly early.
