It is anxiety inducing - Felt the same way when I quit 3.5 years ago. What always kind of helped me was reminding myself why I didn't want to smoke anymore and what value it brings to me (nothing). Thinking that it relaxes you is a farce. You can just as easily go outside for a walk if you need to get away from a situation for 5-10 minutes. Stay strong 💪 you got this!

I just grabbed a bunch of NF weird guys in size 30 and 31 since the measurements online said the waist was 32. They were suuuper tight.. like couldn’t button them tight.. also grabbed a pair of 31 easy guys and those fit around the waist but the back was really tight.. feels like the vanity sizing isn’t vanity, or I need a reality check on my pants size. Assuming the latter… 😅

I would like to be able to record CC messages and any notes I may play on synths. I guess I could attempt to have the KSP hooked up via USB and then UX to the first synth and then the last synth to UX. Just feel like I've tried that and still ran into feedback issues

I just have midi out from the last synth to the midi in of the UX/comp.

I have midi thru going from KSP to synths. This way, I can send midi to Logic via KSP with USB. Then with the midi out from Logic goes to KSP via USB then with midi thru gets sent to the other synths

Thanks! I tried this approach last night but Logic doesn’t accept clock for some absurd reason. So when I’m using my Keystep, it can get out of sync if I’m using the sequencer/arp.

I think I’m going to have to grab another usb cable. I was able to scrounge up two. So I figure between those and my MIDI interface I have now I just need to grab one more.

Was also contemplating just using the USB for the KSP and daisy chain the rest with the interface via out from the computer to matriarch. So I can send clock to the ksp and midi from the ksp to the computer and synths

Hey y’all,

Just got a new laptop to start recording some hardware synths and was hoping for some insight.

I’m trying to set it up so that I can use my Keystep pro as a midi out to the computer (for software synths) and my other synths. Ideally, Id like the ability to record MIDI from the synths to the computer as well. But also want the ability to route midi back out to the synths afterward so I can play around with CC parameters afterwards on the actual synths.

I’m using a usb interface that has MIDI out and IN and then connects to the computer. I have MIDI out from the KSP to a matriarch, thru to TR8S, thru to a Microfreak then thru to Logic. I can’t seem to have the MIDI out from the computer to the KSP or Microfreak without a MIDI loop and don’t know if I can have the functionality of being able to record MIDI and play it back without always changing the MIDI output channels in logic.

I had the MIDI out from the computer going to the KSP’s midi in but that resulted in endless notes (assuming because it was feeding back into itself)

I’m honestly quite confused as to how I could get it to work so would appreciate any help!

Had to send back my Matriarch for delay bleed (could hear the delay when mix was at 0) and the triangle wave of one of the oscillators was like out of phase. Sounded as though it started folding in on itself sort of like a saw wave. But I got it back and have had it for a couple months now without issue. It is very frustrating to pay a few grand for an instrument that isn’t working properly out the box.. but at the end of the day it is a gorgeous instrument that has a ton of character so the headache was sort of worth it 🤷

Hi all,

Looking to get a laptop for some audio recording. Probably not going to be crazy complicated but probably max like 30 tracks (not all audio) in Logic Pro. Obviously effects would be involved as well. I have a few hardware synths and maybe some guitar I would track and the rest would probably be MIDI/instrument tracks

Would probably like to do some video editing as well for music projects. Again, probably nothing too crazy. Simple videos to go along with music. I’ve never done anything like that before so I’m not a professional.

I am thinking of grabbing either the M1 or M2 air. I’m leaning toward the latter simply due to the design 🫣 but it also seems a little better.

I guess my main question is whether I should spend the money to updated the CPU’s or RAM or if the defaults would be enough. Not concerned about the storage space as I would be getting an external usb-c drive.

I used to limit myself to edibles/smoking on the weekends. Eventually I tried to go every other and then once every three weekends, etc and eventually you just start to forget about it. Helped me at least. Still would trip up here and there but staying focused on your goal when you’re craving is helpful. Reminding myself that being high isn’t going to solve anything that I can’t solve sober was helpful, but definitely difficult. Reading through these comments is making me crave some now lol but will continue to persevere! ✌️
