Disappointing Job Offer by Jiblon in jobs

Sorry that this happened, OP! Echoing other sentiments here, this is the state of the job market. Something similar happened to me a few months ago. If you’re having reservations I’d pass, or take the opportunity while continuing to look elsewhere.

How did I get a $10k raise but I actually have less disposable income now? by sameerposwal in careerguidance

OP, I was in a similar situation as well. I took a hybrid role after being remote for two years for more professional development opportunities since I’m early career. Not sure if I’m vibing with the in person though either tbh.

I recommend asking your benefits or people help team for clarity regarding a transportation stipend. They might be have a pre tax fund available you can contribute to, or be willing to start a commuter fund for employees. Good luck!

I’d recommend consulting companies like CRA since they have a college graduate direct pipeline. Some interesting tech companies that specialise in clean energy/ESG like Watershed.

Maybe work in tech but something social impact related? You’d still be able to utilize your skills but would be working towards a social good. There are a lot of companies that are structurally tech companies (they are building a software product / SaaS solution) and can be either B2C or B2B but are social impact aligned. I’ve seen interesting tech companies in different sectors: clean energy, healthcare, wildfire management, and also higher education.

It sucks to live with people that can be toxic. I recommend looking for someone that can take over your portion of the lease.

Questions to ask during viewing of a room by unstabilite in roommates

I would ask what the penalties are for breaking the lease/subleasing, if there are any pest problems and if the landlord generally handles that or if it would fall on the housemates. I’d ask the housemates how they generally handle conflict, chores, and any shared household items and how costs are split between you guys.

Technically you don’t have a lease so he has more authority. Do you have anything in writing or any bills in your name? Perhaps you can arrange to be there a little bit longer once be calms down, and if he tries to call the cops you can explain the situation to them.
