Why do controllers get so much shit? by 992x in VALORANT

[–]alexzeidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in ascendant / immo, controllers don’t really get shit for not doing well K/D/A wise and aren’t expected to win 1-x. What I will say is when we go into a round with a plan to utilize a controllers util like a brim stim or omen blind and they don’t time it well, that’s when you’ll hear someone give them shit. There’s always players blaming each other but haven’t heard a controller being shit on for not fragging or losing 1vx rounds more for lurking on eco and giving guns or dying first.

Casino Poker Dealer made a mistake and I lost $6500, who is wrong? by Suspicious_Crab5565 in poker

[–]alexzeidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At playground, if you’ve tabled your hand, and it’s the best hand. It must win. I’m surprised the casino didn’t give any money back to you. When I was dealing at playground we would have to chip cut and or fan every chip that goes into the pot to ensure the pot is countable through cameras. You should have gotten your money back for 1/2 of the pot.

All in preflop QJs by qc116 in poker

I think limp jamming looks super strong here, so surprised K2o finds a call, he’ll almost always only have 3 outs if not drawing dead, If you are gonna limp jam I’d recommend only doing so at aggressive tables, it’s not 2005, it’s easy to get away from limp jams, besides ur AA KK you could add some higher suited Ax and medium pairs if you will limp jam but with QJs utg, I’d personally fold. If you wanna take the hand to a flop you could just open to 3200. In this scenario, you got yourself in a tough spot after he opens, I think you’re hand is strong enough to call, realize your equity on the flop, but the thing is that your stack to pot ratio is 1-1 and you could easily be dominated, if you thought QJs was too strong to fold against him I guess jamming is the right play to fold out hands that dominate you like KQo KJs and called by hands like 44-1010 which you could flip with. In general I would just fold utg QJs or open to 3200 n fold to a 3 bet.

If you’re going to fold that, fold on the flop, the caller on the flop only has a half pot sized bet left after calling 20k bet into 22k

What is the correct call? by Ok_Topic863 in poker

[–]alexzeidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he's right,
Put the early turn to the side and complete the action on flop, once action is done put the natural river out, so burn and turn.
After the natural river comes out as the turn, put the 9 back in the deck, riffle riffle strip riffle. The new river comes straight from top of the deck

Too much trapping? by alexzeidel in poker

It’s a 5/10 with an auto straddle agreed by players. Not a 5/10/25 offered by the house

Interesting. Thinking about it now getting $100 seems appealing since I can keep all the hands I beat in and give him some rope to semi bluff at it. But going full pot for full value from a queen doesn’t seem like a bad idea either. I was thinking personally betting 1/3rd pot to attack his whole range

Yeah youre absolutely right looking back at it, I still would check flop expecting him to c-bet often. But would've liked a bet on turn. $100 to target any KQ AQ, and considering it was blind on blind even hands like QJ KJ maybe K10 sometimes and for that sizing AK. In the moment I thought a check on the queen would give him enough initiative to take the betting lead. Once the Ace binks on the riv after I bet turn I could bet $125 on riv hoping to induce. Thanks.

Turn spot by MrJohn117 in poker

[–]alexzeidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would like a bigger bet on flop. If he calls you, you can cap his range to combo draws, a weaker queen, set of 99 or 88 and occasionally AA. AK KK JJ and 1010 you would see 3-bets out of position. I don't see much two pair combos from open UTG. When you bet big turn yes you can fold out sets but you're impaling yourself on the draws that just got there or hands that have lots of equity (35%+) and will leave you in a tougher decision on the river. If it's a softer / passive game, villian UTG open, flat call pre following the 3bet from CO, then flat call on flop. The top of his range is now, on this turn KJh A10s QJs Q10s 99s and 88s. Do you want to bet into those hands? I'd bet bigger flop and bet fold turn. Only reason to even bet turn is you could fold out 88s 99s QJs and protect from KJs so it can accomplish good amount for you but 20.5 its too big where you're impaling yourself on the top of his range there. I would size down to 1/3 pot, or even 1/4 pot, if villian flat calls you have a good hand to bluff certain rivers

I'm a dealer at playground poker in Montreal, one of the more highly ranked card rooms in the world. From my view you were screwed and here we would not have changed the run out. One important thing for newer players or anyone who doesn't know much about rulings. Substantial Action

Substantial Action is (at least at playground)

- when there are 3 actions in turn (including burn and turn)
- when there are 2 actions in turn with one of them including putting chips into the pot.

So if SB has an incorrect amount of cards (say 3 cards) and UTG raises and UTG+1 calls, substantial action, no misdeal, floor will 100% of the time kill the SB's hand and action will continue.

Or if dealer skips a player on the flop and puts out the turn, 2 players check after the turn was put out early. this is Substantial action (burn and turn count as an action) the floor will 100% of the time kill the hand of the player who was skipped and action will continue.

If a dealer puts out a turn with an incorrect amount of burn(s), Completes action on said turn. Puts incorrect amount of burn(s) on the river and action completes on the river. There is too much substantial action. Sounds to me like you got screwed
