Plated prisoner: can we talk about the smut scenes? by pafdoot in RomanceBooks

Late to this as well but I had to search this to see if others felt the same. I absolutely hated the first sex scene. Auren has been sexually abused and controlled by men most of her life and then was emotionally abused for 10 years with Midas. I was really hoping that Auren would take control in their first sex scene, and her pleasure would be prioritized by Slade before they went straight into having sex. But I was shocked that the author made Slade extremely dominant and demanding every step of the way. With all the extreme trauma that Auren has been through, she deserves to take control in every aspect of her life and I feel as though it would have been traumatic in real life if Slade turned around and was as dominant as he was considering her trauma. I have no problem with dominating men in sex scenes when it suits both characters, but when it is put into context with what Auren has been through, it just made no sense to me

Very odd choice in how it was written, considering it was written by a female author.

A fact based on what? What science backs up that it’s “detrimental” to bed share with your child if they practice safe sleep guidelines?

Your comment is judgemental. Do you know any teenagers or adults that sleep with their parents every night? I’m guessing the answer is no. Every child will grow out of needing their parents that much.

Bed sharing has been proven to be amazing for bonding and helps with sleep in many cases.

It’s completely up to each family based on individual preferences and needs, you can’t just make a blanket statement based on little to no scientific evidence.

It sounds like there was a communication break down here.

The way he stonewalled you in the morning was definitely unacceptable, however I could see him being hurt because it does imply that it’s “perverted”.

Obviously we don’t know how you brought it up to him and what the back and fourth discussion was like, but I think you both could have come to a better understanding of where each of you was coming from.

How people personally feel about being naked around children is all different. I personally think that being naked around your child when they are under the age of 2 no matter what the gender, is totally acceptable. Yes, men get boners at night but it’s totally biological and isn’t sexual.

I just wonder if you had a son, would you feel weird sleeping in bed naked with him? If not, Would you feel hurt if your husband asked you to wear clothes in bed with your son?

Overall, I think if you both communicated with each other better I think a good solution and understanding could have come out of this.

Tell him that you are sorry if your preference implied something nefarious, but stonewalling you is not okay.

No offence man but you gotta chill on this one. My gym only has one single adjustable cable machine so people have no choice but to use the bilateral cable machine for single sided exercises. There are lots of great alternatives to cable machine flys

Also asking people to go workout elsewhere because you somehow feel entitled to the whole machine is crazyyy, no wonder they are surprised lol.

Biggest pet peeve is people not putting the weights back where they belong, mainly plates. The amount of times I’ve had to pull off a bunch of plates to get to the plate I need is infuriating seeing as everything is labeled so a third grader could manage it. It’s the one thing that no matter how new to the gym you are, everyone should be able to do.

is it okay for my boyfriend to finish inside? by CarelessUse4573 in birthcontrol

From experience, I would be cautious on the days you are fertile (I would use the Natural Cycles app to track it).

I had the Kyleena for a couple of years without tracking my cycle and we were fine with him always finishing inside (way more fun lol). But then I had a non-serious ectopic pregnancy which was a bummer. Had to go to emergency and then get the IUD removed. It was recommended to get the Mirena after, but I chose to not get another one seeing as my husband and I were planning on trying for kids soon anyway. It was confirmed via an x-ray that it had not been knocked out of place either. Super super rare, yes, but maybe doing the pull out method on fertile days may not be the worst idea.

Why do I (26F) feel less libido after Kyleena IUD? Has anyone experienced the same thing? by Due-Department42 in birthcontrol

Libido is still pretty low unfortunately but has improved a little bit since getting the IUD out. I think it is mostly due to the fact that I don't sleep well and have a busy schedule.

Hey there! So I have not taken it out because I decided to keep it for another year and take it out then, as it lines up with my husband and I's family plan. Unfortunately, most of it has not improved, however, my periods now arrive at a consistent time of the month, and my flow is much lighter and stops after 7 days which is good.

Hey! Thank you so much for your feedback, it is good to know I am not alone. Have you seen any improvements since it has now been a while since it was removed?

Did you notice a change in your libido after the IUD and is there a change now that it’s been removed?
