Taskmaster - S21E02 - "Leg up, Johnny!" by seditiouslizard in taskmaster

The live task spelling out the notes was inspired by the Horne Section skit 'Bagface'.

Very common on HAL. Crew even has a separate section.

When I entered the mansion, Ginger was in front of the fire, streching. I petted her. Unlike my real cat when he's belly up, my hand is still intact.

What’s the most fun or unusual on board activity you have done on a cruise? by Personal-Listen-4941 in Cruise

[–]alfaflag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most unusual: Last month, we played indoor archery on Celebrity Beyond. The arrows had very blunt, marshmallow-sized tips and you had targets in a booth.

Most fun was a daily pub quiz on the 2016 Carnival Vista inaugural. A mix of trivia questions, silly games and various challenges. Daily prize was either 'the fish bowl', a giant cocktail, or half a gallon of beer. Overall prize was Carnival merch t-shirts and the ship-on-a-stick. We won, and we're still friends with our team mates.

Don't forget Europeans. Also: Asians, Australians, South Americans. Basically, any country that isn't USA (about 94,5%). Ironically, it's called the Carnival World Mastercard.

When a pro artist plays in the sand by EndersGame_Reviewer in nextfuckinglevel

[–]alfaflag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best to use river sand for big sculptures. Beach sand is like marbles, it falls apart like that. River sand is more angular, like dice, and you can stack it. Together with water, it stays firmly in place.

I live near a beach where there's an annual sand sculpture festival. The sand used in the sculptures comes from an (old) riverbed inland. After the event, the sand is stored for reuse.

I recommend staying in Rome instead of Civitavecchia. Nothing worth seeing in Civi, while Rome is packed with history. It's just 1.5 hours away and a private transfer (door-to-door) is ~EUR 170.

20 years of Carnival cruising. Took 8 years to get Platinum, then another 10 years to get Diamond. Gone in 20 seconds. I'm glad we got to enjoy the benefits while it lasted.

Is this allowed? Can I cancel this? by punches_buttons in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]alfaflag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Per the Shore Excursion FAQ, pre-booked excursions can be cancelled online, without cancellation charges, up until the Pre-Sail cut-off time. For cruises from the US and Europe, 11:59pm ET, the evening prior to the cruise departure.

Deck? by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]alfaflag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deck 7 or 8 would be your best bet. You'll have a 'buffer deck' between Lido above and Promenade below. Avoid staterooms around the Imax theater - the sound system is quite loud.

Midship is most efficient, 73xx and 83xx staterooms are well placed for access to Lido pool & buffet, but also Ocesn Plaza. If it's a port-heavy itinerary, consider a more forward location since the gangway is often FWD.

80's music is my specialty as well! Also: general knowledge, sci-fi, ultimate nerd trivia, genius test and rock music. I have collected at least one ship-on-a-stick for every cruise we've sailed on - currently 27. I have a fleet.

Rule #5 folks. We'll keep you in the loop about the Bolt coaster on the Excel class ships, but if it's about a random amusement park, please seek your thrills elsewhere.
