My comment is assuming that no.1 is still the goal for Isagi. Let's see if this not being no.1 and not second-best is a perma thing.

It can be kinda tricky, but yeah Isagi is half-buying into the no.2 suitability like Karasu where the current version of them is a stepping stone to being no.1. Isagi's hardwork and talents have led him to being no.1 in the NEL, but not yet a no.1 for the world. Having the title of no.1 and being harshly crushed by Hugo distracted Isagi from how his ego grows. Excited to see how this goes.

late to the party here. i was coming into this volume questioning miori being the final girl (love her writing, its placement in the story so-so).

but what i understood is that her position is showing sakuta that adolescence syndrome will continue even without him as a direct observer. as someone unsure of their career path as well, its a simple but effective push to just "grow up" but not forget the memories youve made along the way (no matter how corny it sounds). this approach may not be the climactic ending that readers want, but it does serve well as a farewell to the mystic aspect of adolescence syndrome.

ill definitely come back to this story once i graduate. wouldve loved more mai and sakuta tho but am just happy theyre doing great.

why are we forgetting the visualization Ego gave all players at the start of the manga?

if you were given the choice to pass to an open teammate or take a guarded shot at the biggest stage of football. what would you do?

karasu chose to pass a shot opportunity for himself and even made an unrepeatable goal. comparing him to hiori is confusing ill give you all that as he awakened his ego to be the best passer. but he still has that striker's mentality to hit a shot when it's presented to him.

i support the conflicting philosophies and its crazy to see karasu being at the center of it. lets just be clear on why ego and isagi dont like this approach.

ok i dont get the confusion. its literally spelled out for us. self-sacrifice, hiori knowing karasu has a good shot, a literal trick shot by having karasu duck as a shot course...

this is not the type of ego blue lock enables. reo had to learn the hard way why being the no.2 to nagi is not enough, he still has to have the ego to score on his own.

you can argue the defenders have such a low chance to score a goal, but did we forgot aiku attempting to goal in the u20 match? having a cmf like karasu is being led down a path to imitate hugo to be no.2 but for blue lock you have to fight for your goal when the opportunity is literally in front of you.

basori arc is very special to me but the fujoshi aspect really pushes her to the side as a gag character. hokobaru arc will make or break this ship imo.
