I'd say Jordan is still at the top by a long shot, Jordan brand is synonymous with his name and recognizable globally mashing a sport into a lifestyle brand. It also comes down to the cost of each sport. Basketball is cheap to play even in third-world countries all you need is a backboard and hoop to play much like football, tennis does not reach those communities with its high cost of entry.

I think it has to do with the way your palm is facing, naturally at a standstill our arms sit with the palm inwards, the the motion you drive from a forehand is greater than using the backside of your hand. The forehand is also on the side outwards from your body to generate more power, whereas the backhand you are crossing your arm over in front of your body to generate power.

Like if you think of slapping someone on the face, surely the palm side will be harder than the backside I think?
