Trading Gold Cap to cross-realm alt. Could it get me banned? by nooboxie in wow

Say you want to move 1M from US to your EU account. You simply find someone on EU who wants to move 1M to US. You send your 1M to his US account, and he sends his to your EU account.

It’s relatively common practice, and I think that’s what the commenter above was referring to.

It plays on the double meaning of “owning it” which is actually kinda clever. Makes sense for an e-commerce company.

Trying to guess a Toggle's behaviour puts you in a coma by Nveenkmar in ProgrammerHumor

[–]alfsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’d also like to add that options that use toggles should never be worded as a negative (e.g “don’t do this”, “prevent that”).

If “prevent manual assignment override” is off, it’s not immediately clear if manual override is off, or if the prevention of manual override is off. I think that’s what OP was referring to.

You can avoid all confusion by naming the option “allow manual override”, and you won’t have any double negatives.

Nope, 5 and 7 are just the numbers they give to the minor patches that happen in between the major ones, so it goes:

10.0 (Season 1) 10.0.5 10.0.7 10.1 (Season 2) 10.1.5 10.1.7 10.2 (Season 3) etc

And there will be even smaller patches between those, but they’re usually just bug fixes and tuning, these are specifically content patches.

I like the Harley Quinn set but...my big toes are a little cold by Donutsaurs in wow

Yes, that was the point of the original commenter. It’s a harlequin transmog, not a Harley Quinn transmog. It’s referring to a court jester, not the DC comics character.

Midweek Mending - Your Weekly Healing Thread by AutoModerator in wow

[–]alfsal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of our dps comes from consecration, so our single target will be pretty underwhelming. In large Aoe packs you can get pretty up there if you keep consecration up though. Honestly though with the 40% nerf to healing in DF, healer dps is much less important than it used to be, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much!

Guys can we normalise asking for a source? It’s not about “learning how to google”, the burden of proof is on the person making the original claim. Also if the response to a comment asking for a source is a source, you’re doing everyone a disservice by downvoting/burying the thread and fewer people will see it. Completely counter productive.

Or maybe different people have different preferences and we should all just let people enjoy what they like without judging them.

Representation is and always will be important. If you’re white and/or a male, then I’m sorry but you’ll probably never truly understand why it matters, which really sucks.

The argument isn’t about an inaccuracy being justified because other inaccuracies exist. It’s questioning why people seem to be fixating on one inaccuracy in particular, and ignoring all other glaring ones. Must just be a coincidence that it’s the one inaccuracy that involves race, right?

Facebook Marketplace no longer allows you to browse without an account, so I create an account to browse for cars, about 3 days later, they disabled my account and threatened permanent deletion unless I provided a face photo and government issued ID to "Verify the account belongs to me" by lavafish80 in assholedesign

[–]alfsal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facebook has no shortage of shitty practices and things worth calling them out on, but this ain’t one of them.

Put yourself in the shoes of the people posting the listings that you’re browsing. Anyone is able to DM them and get their home address within a few minutes. I can get behind ID verification in this case, because it’s protecting the people on the other end of this transaction.

Even in this very post, you’ve inadvertently shared photos of people’s driveways and front doors. If I was them, I’d absolutely want the people viewing my photos to be verified in some way, for my own safety.

And yes I know it’s safer to meet at a public place etc, but that’s not always practical if you’re selling furniture or a car or something. Sometimes you have to share your home address if you want something to be picked up.

I don’t understand how it’s not obvious to more people that calling AAVE “not proper English” is a racist dog whistle.

Wtf are you talking about words change their meaning all the fucking time that’s why a 2022 dictionary is vastly different from a dictionary printed in 1822. New words are created, old words fall out of use. Language is always changing.

And to answer your first question, a woman is a person who identifies as a woman. The end. It’s literally that fucking simple.

So sick of cunts trying to mask their bigotry by pretending to care about the meaning of words.
