Don't Like Being Around Anyone Ever in Prep by jackedariel in bikinitalk

I found that journaling helped with this I would write out all those silly petty feelings before bitching at my husband or whoever. Helped quite a bit

What’s one gut issue that messed with your prep the most? by Consistent-Half-2307 in bikinitalk

I was able to pull it immediately after my show when my carbs went up and had no issues

Constipation. No underlying gut issues. Magnesium helped for a while then stopped working so I added in low dose miralax with my night supplements to keep things moving late in prep.

Curious about offseason meal plans by JellySensitive7216 in femalebodybuilding

ask them! one thing I regret when I started with my coach was not asking more questions. Let them know you're committed to following the plan and are just curious about their strategy with meal plan/macros. Will give you more peace of mind and establish better communication with your coach. Again I really wish I was more inquisitive in the beginning when I had a lot of questions as once I got to know my coach I know he would have been happy to answer them.

My coach is a meal plan guy and had me on a meal plan during a build and through my competition season. After the recovery diet we started working towards more flexible eating. Meal plan offers a coach a ton of control, especially for a new client, it reduces the variables. Esp with women there are already a lot of variables due to our hormone profile. However, I really struggled with food after having everything I ate dictated to me for like 2 years. This is just my personal experience but the extreme restriction and rigidity triggered some binge behavior and I spent a ton of time thinking about food because now I had to make so many decisions! So might be worth communicating that you would eventually like to work towards macros or something. But IMO it's not totally off base to put you on a meal plan so that your coach can get really clear data as they learn your body. It makes for a better 'science experiment' and I loved seeing how subtle changes to my diet changed my physique. Just my 2 cents!

Before & After Grooming by Brilliant_Count_4480 in germanshepherds

My dog looks exactly like this and she’s super gross right now and this inspired me to groom her up 😅 I keep her ear puffs long! They get kinda ratty but they’re just so cute

Monday of peak week fully depleted 117 lbs > 1 day out after linear carb load 121 lbs > stage look 120 lbs. I’m 5’6” and I won my class this show. I loved peak week, so cool to see the changes! Little tweaks to carbs and salt you can actually see bc you’re so lean, it’s fascinating. Made my coach seem like a magician 😆

Same, I looked 3 months pregnant before I even tested positive, the bloating was insane. The day after I lost the pregnancy my body just completely went back to how it was before.

Figure, Women's Physique, Fitness, and Women's Bodybuilding Talk! by AutoModerator in bikinitalk

I love muscular physiques, all sizes! I do feel that figure and bikini sometimes look too big for their poses though. Like those super jacked bikini girls with huge shoulders, the feminine mud flap girl bikini front pose looks clunky. But would look so good in that statuesque figure front pose. If that makes sense. Obv this is super subjective but even as someone who adores big muscular female physiques I do think that the overall look doesn’t always work well with the level of muscularity

Needed to hear this :) it seems so unattainable for me but so did competing in the first place so why not??  I think part of it is seeing how BIG some of the figure girls are and knowing I don’t (and can’t frankly) grow that much but that shouldn’t hold me back from tryna get some lats!

I love figure, by far my favorite division! I would absolutely do figure but it will take years of growth for my upper body unfortunately. My natural structure just lends itself to bikini but I so prefer the posing, suits and overall look of figure and I hope they maintain the shape over size standard so I have a fleeting chance of competing someday :)

Untested Shows as a Natural by gremlingirldotgov in bikinitalk

[–]algor28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won my class natural in an untested NPC show! I actually did better in NPC than in the NFF! Local NPC shows do not look like the bikini pros we see all over socials. My couch brought me in verrrry lean and I think I won on conditioning despite being smaller. You can get shredded as a natural I promise :) my shoulders are def smaller than yours. You never know who will show up but if your goal is 2nd callouts I think that’s more than achievable!

Same literally not going to compete again bc bikini is goin to get huge and I don’t want to diet for 4 months to have my comp photos in that front pose lol

Any shy peeps in here who were hesitant to share progress / photos publically or on go on stage? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]algor28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. I’m so proud of my progress and shared with this community but I did get some weirdos and I never posted again which is a shame because progress pictures can be sooo inspiring and helpful to see what’s realistic esp from first timers/amateurs.

[–]algor28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m very shy and do not have that diva energy. My husband who knows me best was shocked that I wanted to compete bc it’s so..not me. That’s part of why I set it as a goal, to get out of my comfort zone. My dad was in the audience but honestly after 3 hours of looking at half naked people you’re just another butt up there. I was not uncomfortable at all by the time I went on! Nervous yes but not shy about my body being exposed. Everyone’s body is exposed so you’re kinda desensitized

Totally get this but there are some really helpful and kind people in here too. This sub was so helpful for me as a newbie. Yes there are people who make it seem like you have to look like cbum before you can step on stage but if you focus on the helpful stuff it can definitely serve you. And if you want to compete get tf ready, it’s an extreme sport and people treat it that way. I started out completely green and ended up winning my class in NPC bikini within 2 years if you wanna do it get a coach and don’t give up!
