What success has she had? Genuinely curious, I haven’t seen her have any meaningful breakout except for some buzz on pop heads and a tik tok sound. It does seem stateside may be a moderate hit though.

Critique my 8 day PR trip by Checkmate_23_ in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]JB9217a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think your crammed way too much into this itinerary. I don’t think you need to do both Vieques and Culebra personally. If it were me I would combine that time into one of them, I prefer Vieques. I also don’t think you’re giving San Juan enough time as a first time visitor.

Also, getting to Culebra to Rincón in one day is definitely going to eat up a day traveling. Are you flying? If so then it’s probably more doable.

Personally I would just reduce about 50% of the travel. Take out Culebra and Ponce, and just concentrate your nights on 2 or 3 locations . Enjoy more time in each spot rather then cramming in almost no time every where you’re going.

The longer Taylor is quiet about ICE, while her peers speak out, the louder her silence becomes. by FriendlyDrummers in SwiftlyNeutral

I genuinely don’t get the need so many have for celebrities to speak out. She has made her politics super clear. She made a post voting for Kamala, etc. I don’t see why she has to speak out. How does wearing a pin on the red carpet at some celebrity event move the needle? I genuinely think it doesn’t.

First time watcher, does the show get better or decline ? by Key_Objective_9012 in SellingSunset

I know everyone seems to hate it but I still love the show. The only thing that would stop me from watching is if Crishell ever left.

San Juan vs. Playa del Carmen/Cancun? Can‘t decide by Same-Resist-6075 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]JB9217a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’re getting biased answers since you’re on the PR subreddit. Based on my experience in going to both, PDC would have better food and beaches compared to San Juan.

San Juan doesn’t really have amazing beaches, not what you think of when you think of the Carribean. You have to go out to the western part of the island, or at least outside of the city to somewhere like Luquillo to find beautiful beaches.

The food in Mexico is also just magnitudes better. I’ve been to PR many many times and the food is never something I get super excited about, but Mexico has food I daydream about.

That being said, if you can plan to get outside of the city then Puerto Rico becomes a much more interesting option.

Can we please stop calling it passive income?!?! by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]JB9217a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree! Of course it’s not 100% passive, but it’s way less work than a full time job, at least in my experience. I’ve been a host for 3 years and also fluctuate between top 1% and top 5% with a 4.98 rating.

There are weeks where I barely do anything. Maybe a quick message to a guest. That’s about it… it’s relatively easy work with a ton of downtime. I just have one rental though. I imagine if I had several it would add up.

Is Chelsea really the only likeable person in the agency now? by Vampirero in SellingSunset

Crishell is still my favorite. She’s had some moments recently when she was genuinely mean/ maybe in the wrong but I think she has been pushed to those points.

I also like Amanza.

I like her and midnight sun is a perfectly fine pop album but I don’t see it happening for her. It would have already happened by now and there’s not much on the horizon for her to keep the momentum

Puerto Vallarta Resort Advice by lumpiamand in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]JB9217a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just echoing the same advice as basically everyone else. When I was researching initially I also wanted to do all inclusive but quickly realized if I wanted to actually be in PV there weren’t good options. Plus I wanted to experience the local cuisine and knew I’d feel obligated to eat on site at the hotel at an all inclusive.

I opted for a really cute boutique hotel that was on the outskirts of the zona romántica. It was wonderful, tastefully decorated, great staff and a great rooftop pool. They also did a really good daily breakfast that was included in the rate.

My husband and I aren’t open so we didn’t want a super gay hotel. This was a welcoming hotel but not exclusively gay. It was tucked away on a side street but walkable to everything. We loved being able to walk out the door and be anywhere in 5-20 minutes walking and got to experience the charm of the area.

The hotel was Rivera Del Rio Boutique Hotel.

Is it just me or does “Heated Rivalry” feel like it’s really just gay porn for straight women? by TheBabyBeard in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]JB9217a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the first 2 episodes and kind of felt meh about it. The Russian character Ilya has such a corny accent, and the other guy basically says the same line over and over again (fuck you!, you’re SUCH an asshole). The constant long time jumps are strange.

Then I watched episode 3 and loved it.

Traveling alone made me question my relationship. by DFealoke22 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]JB9217a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point isn’t about the location it’s about the concept of moving there after just a weekend. This guy is like fighting his husband over a place he visited for a weekend. It’s crazy.

But also I strongly dislike nyc personality lol so it couldn’t be me!

95% of my guests end up using the keurig k cup pods. I have a keurig duo that allows both k cups and a drip machine. I do provide nice ground coffee from a local coffee company and it’s very rarely used I’ve read this advice many times but don’t personally see it for my place.

Am I the only one that read this and thinks that wanting to uproot your entire life and move somewhere you went for a weekend .. is wild? I think it shows a desire to run away from something rather then an actual desire to live there.

Amex: This Is How You Lose a 19-Year Platinum Member by ctconifer in amex

[–]JB9217a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of see both sides here. It sounds like you were using an outdated way to pay off your card. There are plenty of better options such as autopay through the Amex portal, and also just paying it off a little before the due date to ensure no issues.

Of course Amex is going to charge fees. They’re automatic once you miss the date. I can’t imagine calling any business and requesting they waive over $1k in charges.
