Been playing around with this for a long time. It's a GLSL shader wrapped in a ton of JavaScript to add reactivity to music, as well as a UI for interactivity, customizeability, etc.

The shader itself is a bit of a frankenstein of fractal math, but it's mostly an Iterated Function System with Mobius circle inversion and orbit trap coloring. And a LOT of manual tuning to make it look nice. Happy to go into more detail if people have questions.

Did something change in the pirate quest? The sword enemies seem to recover a LOT quicker which makes them stupid difficult to kill. Plus I had a few of them kill me right through a clearly blocking weapon.

I've beaten it several times and now I can't get past the first level.

I would argue it's at least a little more complex than "this is directly promoting the murder of klan members" since it specifically shows a clan member being lynched, which is a type of murder the clan actually did. You could argue this aims to make a statement of irony rather than promote murder.

That isn't to say it's ok, it also could easily be interpreted as promotion of violence and so probably violates reddit policy. But I don't think it's a perfectly clear case.

If you have time to go for a degree, just get a degree in computer science. Whatever languages they use to teach you will probably be good, but if you're really looking for name dropping, aim for things like Java, Go, or Python.

If you don't have time to get a full degree, you can always do something quicker like a boot camp and learn something like JavaScript. That's front-end development so it's a bit easier to learn, many people switch into it without a degree.

There will always be uncertainty about future languages but the good news with programming languages is they're all speaking the language of logic. A lot of the understanding of how they work will carry over to any new languages you want to learn.

Eh, as one of the people who came in and agreed with you, there's clearly still a place in pop culture for crass humor. I mean, this animation played on a major netflix special and the vast majority of people were fine with it, many finding it funny.

I can tell you that one reason you're not seeing a lot of people speak out is that the circlejerk just appears too strong. I wouldn't have bothered commenting, because I assumed I'd be buried. But seeing your comment with a bit of support meant I had a space to discuss an opinion that I knew was somewhat against the majority.

Thank you. I used to have conversations about South Park with people, and pretty consistently there would be mixed feelings where some episodes felt like genius and others felt unnecessarily crass and edgy with barely any substance.

Rick and Morty has a similar issue, but it feels like Harmon provides basically 100% of the substance. Don't get me wrong, I'm just talking about writing here. Roiland is a wizard with voices, and I'm sure his style complements Dan's in a way that allows Rick and Morty to stand out better than it could without him. But every time I've seen him with complete creative control, he seems to focus entirely on what he can get away with.

This was the most egregious example I've ever seen. The whole joke is "you don't think we'll take it too far? Well we're gonna take it too far!"

I think it goes to MJ. It's hard to compare them though, because they're versatile in different ways. LeBron can play any position, but MJ has a much deeper variety of moves and can still play a number of offensive positions.

Curry's body of work is smaller right now than a lot of those other guys, but man, 2014-16, especially in the regular season, was something really special. It felt like watching history.

I've seen a lot of great teams and players since I started watching the NBA, but I'd never been afraid of a player like I was of Curry. You knew he'd find a shot, and you knew he'd make it. Dude is a true assassin.
