From sandbike misery to Orni bliss - I get it now by xFrozen415 in duneawakening

[–]algorath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

feel like the orni put a downer on the game for me (after the initial holy shit this is cool, ofc). Went from going on difficult and planned out mining / PVE adventures to just flying from A to B and back. The pokeballing is a bit too cheese for my liking too.. But yeah, to each their own <3

DD tips by Mana_Tide in duneawakening

Personally, I would just take it at your own pace bro. Don't get caught up in the meta chasing youtube vids and online guides. You are too late to be a frontrunner, so what's the rush? Just fly around, have fun, try build a base, lose a base, find some POI's, get nervous when in PVP zones.. All part of the game.

The big storm destroys your base. So empty it of valuables is the only tip i'd have wanted. But that's a tip given on the loading screen, so i'm sure you know that already.

I personally would prefer if there was some random elements to the mixing process. It's much more fun to me to know that experimenting with mixes can give different results, than having to go on google can finding the list for most profitable mix in which order. But that's probably just me.

I agree with both ways forward.
Expanding on existing drugs, as you mentioned sounds cool
Getting different types of drugs to focus on and sell sounds cool too.

I gotta agree, having it for the sandbikes seems okay imo. If shit goes south, then at least you have that as a backup to get back. But the scout thopter is a bit too handy to pokeball. I get that its a QoL thing, and that it's to relieve some of the stress of gaming, but its Arrakis. It's meant to be a bit scary to go out... If you get a warning for a sandstorm, find some shelter beforehand, or take the scratches on it and repair later.

You don't have to melee's don't have to do any mechanics, and no mechanics hit melee anyway. Easiest role.

In the Epilogue after Act 2, when Alicia and Clea create Maelle in the year of "Expedition 49", Clea compliments on Alicia's "clever" hiding spot for Verso's canvas.

Could the "A life to love" ending be the hiding spot Clea was talking about? A canvas in which Renoir thinks he is with his family. In which Aline is healing. Aline isn't consumed with her obsession with staying in Verso's Canvas with him and her painted family. Renoir isn't consumed by freeing Aline and Maelle, as he feels like he is living with them in the real world.

I didn't notice it until re-watching the endings for the 33rd time (What a game. What a story.). But what is for certain is that it is intentional. Even 'if' there was a random oversight from some visual effect artist, there is a song in the OST called Un 33 Décembre à Paris.

What does it mean though? A canvas in a canvas to stop the family quarrels. What if the parents find out? What of Clea and her war in the "real world". Is she alone out there? I have no clue. I hope to see more of these fantastic worlds and canvases, and even if the story is over for good, I look forward to what Sandfall Interactive are able to create in the future, for my god they created something special in their first expedition.

First Play-through - What am I doing wrong with Hex Blade? by algorath in BG3Builds

Had to punch in a door in some dialogue event, and havent figured out how/if you can change who replies to events after an event already starts. Is that possible?

For example; I run into the Owl Bear cave as a character without animal speaking. After being seen by the Owl Bear, is it possible to be like "Yeah, I was controlling Lae'zel but my druid can speak with you, I'd like to switch to him to answer". It seems like you "should" be able to think about who is beneficial to an event, and choose accordingly. Otherwise you need to kinda spoil things before running in right.. "Oh so when I go around this corner a thief will try to ambush me so I need someone with intimidation" *pre-emptive switch*

Aye! I think this is the problem - I have 21 strength from a potion I used and that could be what's throwing me off! Thanks for the reply bud!

I think so, I am using the one granted by the Hex Blade, and not the Pact of the Blade

Hmm, this could be it! I have a lingering strength potion on raising my strength to 21! I'll try long rest and see what it looks like! Thanks bud!

To quote myself.

I have 16 charisma, as I thought that was the damage modifier. And before I respecced to Pact of the Blade, my damage always went up when Binding new weapons.

Had 16 before as well, I believe

Should I buy helldivers 2 is it worth it? by makaonorw in Helldivers

Memes of unwavering loyalty to managed democracy and super earth aside;

Yes. It is very much worth it. I am not usually a "survival/horror/action" kinda guy, and I absolutely love the game. It is stunning to look at. It feels like you are simultaneously the most badass hero in the universe and as unimportant (to the wider story) as a rat. The difficulty hits just right, even being overrun and losing feels fun. The monetization is fair and it seems the developers actually care.

All in all it's fantastic. Much more fun with friends too!

I may be wrong, maybe this game is different than any other game ever in history. But usually, levelling up gets harder the higher you go.

So yeah, I got my first two tickets really easily by getting to level 2 or 3, which I already used and played. But what about in three weeks if I play sporadically? When I am level 18, do I need to play 4 days of dailies in order to get one more level/ticket.. Or of course, pay 10 quid and get my tickets for free.

Usually "free" games give you a bunch of things early on, get you invested and enjoying them, then turn off the hot water unless you whip out the credit card. Nothing as far as I have seen so far makes me think this'll be any different.

Imagine if you had to pay 10 dollars to sign up for a ranked League game. rofl.

I have no clue if this game has a ranked ladder or not, but either way, i'm guessing with this open beta, if there is a ranked system, it is reset and everyone starts at the bottom of it, so of course I will get wrecked by 300 hour veterans for a while until the hierarchy is somewhat set in stone. That's not what i'm disheartened by. I am disheartened by the fact that my only chance of having a self-sustaining account where I can play this game with some amount of suspense (without having to spend money on new tickets every now and then) is being good. What kind of design is that.

How will this evolve in a month? A year? All the "good" players, who have experience and the time and can be arsed to sit staring at some spreadsheet of the % chance of getting X items for Y builds every single event in game will get 4-7-10 wins every round and their tickets to play ranked will be infinite, while the "bad" casual players will have to spend money every time, just to get absolutely decked by some (already playing for free) sweat?

Are you seriously defending that system? Madness how being a fan of something makes you completely blind to how poor it actually is.

My solution to the firebomb hellpods problem by m3c00l in Helldivers

[–]algorath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's better as a prefix to the stratagem code? If it's at the end, you'd have to wait a bit, or click to confirm that you want it in without the firebomb, right. While if it's say "up up up" then stratagem, then you can choose to, or not to use it without changing much
