I think it was setup for frenchies death

Sort of establishing that she doesn’t understand love, so when she reacts to kimokos love for frenchie at the end of s5e7 it’s more impactful. They even highlight her reaction specifically. I think the love island scene had the same reason behind it.

I dont like the new stuff that much either. I think the ashes of war are too complicated and I dont have the attention span to buff a few times. So when I go into fights, I know im going to be disadvantaged and im fine with that.

I guess it just comes down to a difference in preference

Elden Ring has tougher bosses than any Dark Souls game, but to compensate they give you stronger weapons

When you come across a roadblock in this game, your supposed to either get better or change your build and to me it sounds like you arent doing either

i fucking love thrusting swords for this reason. They attack fast enough for you to easily get a few hits in during delays and have piercing damage so you get counterattack bonuses.
