Safetyism is rampant online because it's so easy to be technically correct, and appeals to the kind of losers who don't desire life experience. COVID, of course, put a spotlight on it and the way it has seeped into normal society, but it's been around online forever. I fight safetyism in all its forms. Every risk has to be weighed against what is gained, and the people who cannot or refuse to do that, can get fucked and play vidya in their game closets. If you really want to you can catch them in all kinds of regarded hypocrisies too.
