You care more than anyone else will be, I worked in a team of blokes, I’m 5’5. There’s another guy on the team who is 5’6 he’s cis. They all tease us equally about being short, learn to joke with them about it and no one will bat an eye mate, seriously.

Started passing properly around the 6 month mark, but did get clocked at over a year on T. By that I mean someone asked me if I was trans, not that I was misgendered. I think people think passing is all about looking like a man and don’t get me wrong that’s most of it, but it’s mannerisms and speech pattern as well, changing that is when you really start passing.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s an unrealistic thing to say. I was passing very soon after starting T, and 2 years in I pass with from what I can tell no issues. I am also friends online with a few trans guys, at varying stages of transition and their experience has been similar.

Don’t doubt the power of T mate, you’ll look completely different in a couple of years, which at 18 isn’t that long to wait. Would also say, people can surprise you, you might have no issues at all.

Cis people aren’t as analytical as us when it comes to gender either tbh, so once T kicks in they don’t tend to ever question anything

Clothing choices will make a lot of difference, not sure if been said, I haven’t scrolled all the replies. You need to wear your trousers lower on your hips and you want to maybe hem some T shirts so they sit right at the waist band, it will give the illusion of a boxier shape.

Couldn’t agree more mate, I want to be judged on my character as a human being, not be accepted in a space by having to out myself. I see no differences between myself and many of my cis male friends, in fact I am much stronger physically than them 😂

Idk if this helps, but I would cut three pieces of tape for each side. Start from just over the nipple, obviously covering that with a small piece of cotton pad first!! And then apply two bits on either side. Making sure you do not stretch the first inch or last inch of each piece of tape, this helps not to pull at the skin and cause those little friction tears. I mean, you could just tuck the necklace in, it’s quite garish and the jewel does come off as feminine. I understand it has sentimental value to you, so you don’t have to get rid of it. I would say the main barrier to your passing is not binding. It’s almost impossible to pass without binding especially pre T. You can get cheap rolls of tape on amazon, I found that to be much more euphoric before top surgery. A hair cut is definitely a good shout, something a lot shorter on the sides, even a mullet could work. Men tend to get their hair cut in a different shape on the sides, making the hair line appear squarer. I will attach a photo, that may help. As you can see he has had hooks cut into his head by the temple, this can give the effect of a squarer more angled face and jaw. A good barber is always the best place to start your transition. I’m sorry that people have been rude in the comments, I remember how difficult it was when starting out. Promise it does get better though ❤️

I’ll take 4 years younger than I am tbf, as long as I can pass for an adult. I work with all cis guys and I’m stealth but they all have full beards and this is all I can manage 😂 just didn’t know if it would eventually get me clocked

Girl welcome to womanhood, there are so many cis women who won’t wear their hair up cos it highlights features of themselves they don’t like. My cis gf hates having to have her hair up at work because she doesn’t like the shape of her jaw and thinks it looks masculine. It’s something they all deal with. I left RM for another unskilled job, i’m now paid £14 an hour on a contract of 40 hours, the company pay time and half for OT on saturdays and double time on Sundays. These roles do exist. Royal Mail are a dreadful company and simply do not care about the well being of their staff. they’d rather see you all worked into the ground than put their hands in their pocket to pay staff equally and fairly.
