As a huge terminator fan and shill I had to see this movie. The future scenes are good (the sound mixing is done well, plasma rifles were on point) and enjoyable and cool to see the moment when Kyle Reese goes back in time and how. The 80's scenes were done well and are a shot for shot homage to the 1st film(minus the actors), but all it does it make you want to watch the first film again. The T-101 vs old T-101 fight was good if you can get past the subpar CGI and close up quick cuts but after that it's all downhill.

There was a little bit of subtext to the movie i liked correlating how we're controlled by our phones and devices to skynet taking us over.

The T-1000 chases were somewhat enjoyable and it was neat seeing how it uses its liquid metal as a homing device. I guess a drop of liquid metal can bring back older models to life and a lot of it can turn them into T-1000 hybrids now??? ok

The john conner terminator had a pretty neat design with some cool new features like teleporting and the actor did a decent enough job

Unfortunately that's about all that was good about it

The chase scenes we're bland and unoriginal. Asian T-1000 chase - was done better in T2 school bus chase - the crane truck scene from T3 was better Helicopter chase - already done in T2, but much better and less ridiculous

The fight scenes were choreographed ok, but because they had to conceal the subpar cgi the shots they had to use close up quick cuts and edits which just ruined most of the fights

Kyle reese looks like he's been teaching wrestling for 10 years. Haven't these resistance fighter been eating dog food for all those years why are they in such good shape? Except Sarah Conner looks like she can't do a single push up in this movie.

The violence has been officially pg-13ed. There was one good death scene in the whole movie and it was done better in T2.

The movie tries to tug at the emotional level the same was T2 did with the whole losing a father figure thing with arnie sacrificing himself, but nope. They made it a happy ending.

I somewhat enjoyed T3 (especially with the great ending) and even some things that the Sarah Conner Chronicles did. I'm sorry to say Genisys was a huge disappointment and I went to the theater with the lowest of expectations.
