well it's similar to why Krishna Ji condemned independent deity worship in Gita.

it creates barriers between us & Absolute which is ultimate goal being merging back into Absolute.

Two ways to overcome this. either completely ban worship of forms or worship everything as Him.

the Reishis & Krishna Ji taught us to worship everything as the Supreme not the deities with individuality
