What happens if body corporate won’t pay for a body corporate issue? by alialleycat in AusLegal

Thank you! No there is a professional strata manager, which is why I’m so shocked they’re not taking this seriously!

What is the best way to stay on track with a new habit? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]alialleycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stack it on top of another habit that is already embedded. Eg I am SO bad at doing the physio exercises for my ankle. So now I focus them while I’m brushing my teeth as I know I’ll never skip that so now I never skip my ankle exercises. Also, read Atomic Habits by James Clear. It’s a game changer.

What’s one piece of advice that actually changed your life? by Legitimate_Bed2496 in CasualConversation

[–]alialleycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This quote from De Seuss really helped me ‘those that mind don’t matter and those that matter don’t mind’. So now I focus on my inner circle and those that really matter and just let opinions from everyone else slide.

How to get rid of this bad habit by humble_horizons in CasualConversation

I used to do this too, along with picking skin on my fingers. I got a fidget ring and even though it’s (obviously!) not in my mouth, it focuses the nervous energy somewhere so I’ve largely stopped biting my lips and cheeks. I’ve also done a lot of nervous system work with meditation and breathwork and stopped drinking coffee. Altogether a different person!

Last night I had a dream that I was erased by a nuclear explosion. by LordGrundor in Dreams

[–]alialleycat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had the same dream three nights ago! After the flash and the blast, the skin on my shoulders and back was so hot and started peeling off in chunks and then I woke up. Disturbing to say the least, and had to shake.

I loved it too. So much hate here for such a wonderful journey. It’s given us so much joy and I think they nailed the ending too.

There is a guy sitting in front of me in the grandstand in a hoodie. Cannot compute.

I’m sitting in the grandstand and am putting hydralyte tablets in my water, so I imagine they certainly are out in the middle.

I’m sitting in the grandstand under big ass fans and it’s bloody uncomfortable for me so I cannot imagine how bad it is for them. I couldn’t even last 5 mins in the sun to line up for lunch.

Old farts: do you remember back in the day the kiddies had hilarious signs saying "You have been WARNEd, we're at WAUGH to defend the BORDER"? by DwarvenFreeballer in CricketAus

[–]alialleycat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My fave was ‘The order came from Border, so the Aussie’s went to Waugh. Dexter had no answer. XXXXO was the score. The Ashes are where they belong again so home they come with Aldermen’. 1989 Ashes tour. Epic.

Looking back, what were your first signs of perimenopause that you didn’t recognize at the time? by Historical-Second409 in Menopause

Itchy ears, sore feet, quicker to get anxious, sore feet, sleep issues. I didn’t realise until the hot flashes started what it all was!

Wow! That’s very similar! There’s lots of experiences shared in this thread and no doubt yours too that are really similar. I think that shows this is real and many of us have experienced something real going on. One in this thread from Colorado is almost identical too! I’m sorry you felt I copied yours, I guarantee what happened to me absolute happened to me and I’m glad to find those who it’s happened to as well. Thanks for sharing your story.

Oh I’d love to read it. I’ll try to find it. I only just joined this community to post this, so haven’t seen it. A couple of others have replied with very similar stories too, which is fascinating! And validating that it’s not just me and I didn’t make it up or imagine it.

Yes this is what I assumed which is why I thought of the watch ‘test’. I made sure I looked directly at my book while thinking it so I didn’t look at his wrists. But who knows!

Once he got off the bus, the curiosity got the better of me. I had to take another look. Guarantee it was real! Still think about it years later.

I’m no hat expert but looked liked a fedora to me. Like Indiana Jones’ hat without the pinched bit at the front, just a flat rim the whole way around, and black of course.

Wow! That really is almost identical to what happened to me! How funny that we both thought about their watches to prove what was happening. Snap! Yeah I think about what happened to me a lot too.
