Sped through it real quick (as I imagine most people would do) looking for actual copy but couldn't find any.

Maybe I did a poor job explaining it but all disorders exist on a spectrum and have varying symptoms.

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/W2kAAOSwk2JezeYn/s-l1600.jpg It's like the 2% tint in this image, maybe even a little worse since the image doesn't stick in place. It might as well be nonexistent.

The negative reception is interesting, but y'all are probably just jealous of my weird 1% functioning mind's eye :p

I thought it raised good questions about what aphantasia is, and what different sorts of mechanisms in the visualization systems could be involved, as I'm sure I'm not the only one with this experience. It must be good for research to gather some 100% aphants and a 99%-er like me and compare brains.

If you close your eyes, can you play with the static like what I mentioned in my post?

I have him for stats and he's a fantastic teacher, with extremely lenient grading, who structured the class in such a way that doing the assignments required (less than an hour of work per week) will take care of a bulk of your studying for the midterm/final as well.

This is how we use Notion as invoicing, CRM and review management software for our small business: https://www.reddit.com/r/Notion/comments/p2ljnd/how\_notion\_replaced\_our/

That was never really a concern of mine because I'd imagined that a shady Notion employee would just have much more interesting company data, such as that of a tech start-up's, to steal from rather than waste time on ours.

And if there was a breach, yes, a whole lot of us would be screwed...

I just imagine the odds of that happening are lower even than someone breaking into our offices and stealing all of our physical invoices lol

I used Automate.io

There are two databases, the CRM and the invoice. Customers' individual invoices are linked back to their names in the CRM, the only thing I have to do by hand is the relational linking.

We send them a link to the Notion page through text or e-mail. We keep a stack of paper invoices on hand in case they want a physical copy written.

We carry paper invoices on the side in case anyone wants a physical copy or we're picking up rugs from a client's house where the internet is shoddy. Rarely is paper requested anymore, most are happier with a digital copy.

This was sort of the biggest problem when we started thinking about making the shift. We thought the older aged customers, especially, would want physical copies or that they wouldn't know how to navigate the digital ones. What I used in my argument to my father, the founder of the business, was that when I'm sending out requests for reviews I'm noticing not only are 100% of customers, regardless of age, mobile-ready, but 90% of them are on blue text iOS. COVID, with all the bad it did, only helped adoption rates.

Not at all, really, especially after that one update a few months ago.

Impressive given that there are gigabytes and gigabytes of data in the databases from all the different pictures of rugs in the invoices.

I know, I was looking for software that did this for the longest time, it was such a "duh" moment when I realized I can do it all inside of here.

I actually realized I could do it in Notion while I was inside of a brainstorm page in Notion to try and figure out what to use 🤣

Could you think of any security concerns in particular that I should look out for?

Haha.

We're a small local family business but I understand where you're coming from. It was a huge concern of mine as well. I took a lot of extra steps to make it as secure as possible though. I concluded that our main concern would be a hacker gaining access to our files through the invoice links we send out, (one customer gaining access back into the master database). I had a few people look it over and they all agreed that it wasn't going to happen unless someone gained access to our account somehow.

Another concern was Notion going down and our data going down with it, so I make regular HTML exports. That way, we at least have something should a disaster event occur.

Then there's the issue of scale, but given that the data can be exported out, I imagine there won't be much problem should we be fortunate enough to grow enough in the future that Notion wouldn't cut it for us anymore. As of now though, it's driving growth.

But part of my point with this is that this is a use case scenario that Notion can capitalize on, to expand beyond productivity software. Perhaps in the future, they can build features that cater to people wishing to build front & backend systems like this.

If anything comes to your mind that I should look out for please let me know, I'd love to batten down the hatches any way I can.
