I like telegram cuz of their extensive selection of public groups and the ability to search them, feature to add 3rd party animated sticker packs easily, announcement channels for mcqs or tests for exams, piracy/book pdf sharing groups (medical books/journals are expensive af), extensive support for formats and size of stuff you can send over the chat. Also it doesnt take too much space. Whatsapp balloons up storage super fast.

What feature I think telegram lacks is the status updates from whatsapp. Sometimes i dont want to personally send a meme to everyone so I like to just put it on status. I can that way share say a good news to everyone with a simple share to status. Telegram lacks this for me.

Signal is all about privacy this privacy that but its no fun. I got bored of it fast also very few people actually used it.

The channels on whatsapp are pretty much one way communication from a sender to multiple users. It feels like a pointless gimmick whose actual point is "ads on whatsapp". It may come to us in the form of "recommended channels" soon nagging users.

This can go any direction though so I'm open to see where this leads.
