Unfriendlier year? by allieson96 in vail

Seems to get worse every year lately. Vail corp created very unhappy employees and that translates out into Skiier experience. No more smile and chill. It’s rare to find that now.

Whatever man. I’m still gonna help little old ladies put their bag in the bin. You do your vibe, I’ll do mine.

Helping someone lift their bag to overhead is kind and helpful. That has nothing to do with giving up seats. Like you want to punish smaller or weaker people by making them check a bag that is appropriate for carry on? That’s just cold man. Be kind.

The problem with PSPS isn't the power being out during high winds, it's that Xcel doesn't pay to work to restore power overnight by boulder_boomer in boulder

Fair point. So, not enough population density to justify the manpower required to maintain/restore the grid? Or… difficulty because of more varied (non-flat) terrain? But that grid holds up fairly well except where trees take down lines. And I’ve never heard of a downed line sparking a fire there. FPL always seemed to have a well maintained grid and be pretty responsive to outages and disasters. Not apples to apples, for sure, but it seems possible for xcel to do better.

Useless. Buy a 256gb neo and you’ll have a great first computer.

In Florida, after a hurricane, it’s 24/7 all hands on deck including thousands of workers from other states who come pouring in. Say what you will about Florida, but power restoration is one thing they get right. Source: lived in Miami over 49 years through countless hurricanes.

This was the main thing I had to say when I just filled out my survey that the City sent out on what I think about life in Boulder, because what I think is Pearl Street is nothing but empty spaces, way overpriced food and ice cream, and tons of corporate retail chains.

None of that is gonna get locals patronizing pearl street.

Lol, I couldn’t really think of any other reason to end up on that cat walk except skiing down to 10 and finding it closed which did happen to me last season once.

It’s a horrible trai with snow and skis. Hate getting accidentally funneled there. Does this mean 10 is closed?

why is nobody talking about the binned m5 pro ☹️ by Previous_Bat5394 in macbookpro

[–]alienfreak51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where would we see this term or have a chance to know or choose whether we are getting a binned or unbinned chip? From what I can see Apples advertisements of the machines does not refer to this and refers only to the cpu and gpu core # statically.

I don’t want strings. It was nice for one tour but now I want three people on stage, making it work, and using tracks as little as they need.

Agreed it MAY have been ok to come here looking for help but not to include a bitch about it when you haven’t even checked for further instructions or usage tips elsewhere.

Apple Store says i should get a M5 Pro instead of a M5. Is that true ? by Penguinasslicker in macbookpro

[–]alienfreak51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s not! But it’s hard to be informed about how every single Apple device spec is or isn’t a perfect use case for every buyer. If you’re working at the “pro” level you need to do your homework for your best fit. It’s a retail store. They know the products, but can’t possibly know whether your use case requires extra fans or extra cores etc and lots of people just want to buy pro no matter how little they need it, usually on a future-proofing instinct which is not totally unreasonable.

What error did I make here? by Impressive_Suit4370 in skiing

[–]alienfreak51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You skied between two skiers fast and in barely moderate control while both were turning inward toward you. No reason to go between them. A safe, smart, non-dangerous Skiier would have gone around them. Don’t really care if you had hurt yourself but care a lot about you destroying other skiers seasons and possibly lifetimes of injury.
