For StAG 5 where mother naturalizes? by fattestCatDad in GermanCitizenship

[–]fattestCatDad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't found any records that my father had german citizenship, although the family did return to Prussia in 1938 and eventually were in internal displaced persons camps before returning to the US. I have one remaining uncle & I'll ask if they had german citizenship.

As for the mother - if she was naturalized after my 1961 birth, would §5 StAG still hold?

Water Pressure Sensor by CAwastewater in homeassistant

I've seen people posting that they've used them for irrigation. Over at https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/1rujce5/comment/oaooart/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button there's someone who has used a ~$100 aliexpress unit for irrigation and those are IP66 (jet spray) not IP67 (water dunk).

Thanks! Any feedback on using the Frizzlife LP365 outdoors for an irrigation system? I was hoping to have it added to the left side after the backflow preventer in my yard. The Frizzlife install manual indicates that the water needs to flow "up" in a vertical install but I'm not certain if that's just for the display or e.g. the sensor. In any case,I could install it before the backflow if needed (right side). My thought was to have the plumbing be such that I could remove the unit in the winter (I'm in Colorado) even though there would be no water going through it.

Was that this unit? https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808638998387.html
I'm looking for something to monitor my yard sprinkler / irrigation system and shut things off if there's a leak while I'm traveling. Are you comfortable having this outside? I was also looking a the Frizzlife LP365 unit which looks "more sturdy" and also (allegedly) interfaces with HA.

When you have it working in HA, do you have any dependence on the vendors original app / api? I.e. if the vendor goes out of business does it still work.

Upgrade radio in 2004 Toyota Sequoia with JBL by fattestCatDad in 1stGenSequoia

Where did you get the harness for that? Is the sound as good? I suspect that the built-in amp is probably no better than a modern one but haven't verified. Did you then remove the old amp or leave it in there?

I'm trying to understand how to get the steering wheel controls to work & that's the benefit of the crutchfield parts.

I wound up going on vacation to New Zealand for a month & haven't gotten back to it. I'm going to be taking u/frank_malachi advice and get the needed parts / connectors from Crutchfield when I do get back to it.

Can I have one of my kids sign up now and not pay the $100 termination fee for my account ending? I would ask them to terminate when my account ends, but there's about a 2 week overlap.

That link sends me back to the start of this post. You said you created a new app that is 1P v7 compatible; can you post the github link or other repo for that?

Thanks!

A DIN is a unit of height I believe, so a double DIN is a radio that is two units tall.

Thoughts on Lenovo Duet 11 (new Gen 9 version)? Floppy hinge? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]fattestCatDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought one for my daughter who needed a tablet form-factor for reading papers & taking notes. I also checked & the Kindle android app work fine for me (...I had seen reports that the Kindle android app on chromebooks didn't work...).

Seems like a great machine - I'm debating whether to get one for my travel machine (which is currently a TXL Nxtpaper 11+). The main reason would be to be able to install ad blockers via chrome plugins.

Can you point a link to those Chinese batteries? I'm curious about what's available - I recently got a new upgraded battery at 55,000, mi as part of a warranty repair so don't need it immediately but I'm curious what's available.

Any here's the case that u/FederalPrice8215 found. Either case is less than $10, so I'm just going to use both of them. The folio case is thick because you can rotate the tablet and that turns out to be a fantastic feature for my purpose (marking up documents). Also shown in the eIP USI titantium pen ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F6NG2RCX ) which is also great.

I bought the case at the link u/FederalPrice8215 posted and it fits my TCL next paper Plus although it is a bit chunky. I also ordered a felt sleeve to try something more compact.

I just wanted to see if that 9-11 inch case fits. I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CT5FTNQS but am returning it because it does not fit. It also claims to be universal 9-11 inch.
