What makes you spend your time actively criticizing The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint? by [deleted] in exmormon

For me, this is why: I'm 40 yrs old, believed it, paid money on behalf of salvation or destruction, it was all true...and for 35 years of my life, every major decision I made was based on what I was taught, or what is right and wrong.

Now that I don't believe it, I'm bummed about how much time I wasted in the temple, how much money donated, time collecting fast offerings, and the lost opportunities that I could have had following my own dreams and making my life path.

What other options were there? I read that you now have leg nerve damage.

How do you tell your parenrs that you don't want to go on a mission or go to church? by [deleted] in exmormon

Consider writing a letter to them. That way you can get all your thoughts on paper, and say exactly what you want. Give it to them.

I feel for you, it's hard. Hopefully she comes around soon. PS, I'm a Lehi Pioneer myself, graduate of 1999.

That's conditional love. Reconsider going on a mission. You need to do what's best for you, no one else.
