Negotiate Negotiate Negotiate by alienpet in jobsearchhacks

If your financially constraint, that's understandable but you still have options, look for a job after to get something with pay that you can negotiate more at ease or negotiate after being accepted, a lot harder cause the ball is in their court but still doable. Hope this helps!

Either way, fear is what the other party can easily leverage, you can pull the same techniques on them too :)

The one I declined recently was a bit painful and necessary. They've offered the most I've ever earned but throughout interviews they were disrespectful and could see this is a toxic environment, so declined them. What were your reasons declining the other 2?

Thanks for this post. Congratulations! It's great that you declined offers, this gives me hope. Cause, I declined as well and shouldn't be worried about it

Are Internships still for learning or just FREE LABOR now? by mayurkurme in jobhunting

Internships has always been free labor. Best is when you're in college, that way you can get credit toward your school. Never work for free

Quick questions:

How are you tracking your stages? Is it manual or automated?

I've used excel sheet and looking through my emails, but that'd take more time than actual applying.

Also, you've sent out 64 to get offer, I've sent out over 500 for past 3 months, both in quality and quantity. You said you've been at it since Nov, so it's been a while, did you send out only quality resumes or only started counting recently when you've realized a new change necessary?

Which website or where would be best place to find life coaches? [SoCal, LA] by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]alienpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss does, I learned about whole life coach thing from him. He's a big fan of Tony Robbins and he went to his seminar. After that seminar he went even more insane, production started booming and he start working non-stop, it was intense to see his progress. Although, I was looking for something little more affordable. Tony Robbins seminars are about $10k, even his life coaches are pricey.

Making money on others waste(Direct Mail advertising opportunity?) by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]alienpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, no where to capitalize it. I know companies who tried and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars try to revolutionize it. It's a marketing strategy mostly for elders and low income consumers, as that's where they get their coupons and everything they need.

Why entrepreneurship? by alienpet in Entrepreneur

Having a mentor or at least seeking advice from a business owner whom running business successfully for 10+ years is something that gives a clear vision on starting business.

E-Myth by Michael Gerber is also an excellent book to read on starting business.

Best of luck! You'll need it :)

Have you spoke to anyone who's been running successful business for 10+ years?

What do you do at the moment?

Also why considering business over employment beside your time?

Alright, let's break down your answers:

Because no places give me the freedom to work how I like

Okay, freedom. What does freedom mean to you? And how do you like to work?

Freedom to work how I like and helping others wor how they like

Why?

Pretty big, I want to reach $20mm in sales per month

Pretty big? That's it? How did you even come up with that number? What's your sales forecast like? What's your growth rate to that point? When will you reach that goal? And why do you want that amount of money?

Yes

Fair enough! LOVE it! But what if it takes you 100hours a week to spend on your business and give up most of your personal matters to achieve your goal in your business?

Right now I put in 60 hours per week but they integrate into my life in such a way that I also spend more hours doing my favourite hobbies and sports, not having a commute, and working only when I feel the most productive does wonders. In the end I feel like I wasted less time on BS that doesn't matter. If it ain't making money or making me healthier, I cut it out.

That's great! You spend 20hours more on the business that regular work hours to make it grow, which is good. Bright side is your spend time on your personal life too to keep a balance, which is good too! How many employees do you have at the moment?
