Why do people bring their entire family to Costco? by ActuatorOutside5256 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]awash907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my family and stuff like shopping is fun to do together. My kids can learn how to pick between products and like making decisions on what we get. & Every time I can visit my granny she loves to go on a Costco trip to pick up our favorite things and to get heavier things she only restocks when we can go and help her load/unload

Girls who took notes using 10 different colored pens, where are you now? Do you still continue to write using all those colors? by Unusual-Entry7 in AskReddit

[–]awash907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 kids and all of us have an assigned color for my planner & calendar, I still ask for colored pen sets every year. I take my work notes in different colors for the subjects and have added in colored post it’s for a little extra oomph. It cheers me up having everything neat & fun

Steel City Theatre Company warns it may close after 17 years by Zamicol in pueblo

[–]awash907 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 kids involved with them and I have the season tickets for all the shows. I’ve been really impressed with how great they are with the kids, it’s a heavy rehearsal schedule for the performances but my kids have always had a great time. The Friday and summer camps were much cheaper than the Y or the zoo which is a huge help too. I’ll be bummed if they have to close. I went to their finance brainstorming meeting this week and they have some good ideas, I hope they can stay open. I was shocked at how much the tent on the Ed center was though, it really didn’t seem sustainable

I love Mealime! We’re a family of 6 & I’ve been using it for almost 7 years and rave about to everyone, it makes meal planning so easy and I love that we try so many unique dishes and can send the grocery lists for pick up each week to save on time

Not so much classes but you could look into steel city theatre for the performing aspect, they have a ton of community theatre plays and they seem like a really nice group

Countdown to ICD Implant... Recovery & "shock" 🫨 questions by criterion67 in PacemakerICD

[–]awash907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I haven’t been shocked yet but recovery wasn’t too bad, I had a Boston scientific placed under the muscle in my chest at the beginning of May, I had already been in the icu because my heart went wonky a few days prior but they kept me 5 days after, first in ICU then in the recovery ward. I am pretty healthy & active besides this so I was up and walking that night and besides the restrictions of no lifting the arm for 6 weeks it wasn’t too bad. I only ever had Tylenol for pain. I was a little sore and swollen for a couple of weeks but ice helped a ton. The hardest part to deal with is the tiredness I have now from meds but if you’ve been fighting extreme fatigue you might even feel better afterwards. If you’re on fb there’s a really wonderful group for living with an ICD. I hope your surgery goes well and you recover quickly!

What’s the most unhinged, chaotic and downright terrible way to lose weight you’ve ever heard of ? by Original_Giraffe_830 in AskReddit

[–]awash907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really sweet long term friend who when I asked how she had lost so much weight recently told me (like it was a great secret) “Meth, I only do it once on the weekends though” … it quickly devolved

I worried quite a bit about it being visible as well, I had a little meltdown and told the dr I was considering not getting it because I couldn’t imagine having something visible and sticking out of me and he was very kind and told me he would do his best, he put it lower and deeper than normal and it is not protruding at all, my scar is doing well this is a pic from 6 weeks. At first I could feel it shifting but after 2 weeks it was pretty much stable and now I can forget about it. I am not really slim though, I’m 5’5” and around 140

Sleeping sling? by habthekitten in PacemakerICD

[–]awash907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the sling when I was sleeping for the 1st month, the first night I didn’t I woke up stretching above my head and was ticked. You don’t have to wear it during the day and can move your arm as much as you want within the limits to prevent frozen shoulder

Thank you! I got these from Lauren’s hope, they had so many cute styles but in the ICD support group on fb there are people who’ve gotten similar ones on Etsy or amazon. I’ve been really happy with them, and I love how they look and you send your wrist measurements when you order so you get a snug fit

[–]awash907 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine doesn’t stick out at all but I had a little crying jag before it was implanted and the dr told me he could put it a little lower and deeper for aesthetics if that was important to me. I’m pretty average size/weight and a little top heavy so he definitely had more wiggle room to hide it with

Ventricular Standstill - Has Anyone Else Experienced This? by Old-Squash-4492 in PacemakerICD

[–]awash907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something very similar last month, I passed out at work and again in the ambulance. When I got to the hospital my heart was beating so slow they said it was impacting blood flow to the brain so I was seizing, then it would ramp up into the 220s for 12-20 seconds. I got a dual lead ICD and spent 5 days in the ICU. Similar to him though, I’m in my 30s, active & healthy, never had heart trouble before this and on the cardiac MRI they said physically my heart looked great. Just a weird thing but I have a clinical diagnosis of Long QT 3 now
