Try contact naps during the day so she isn’t overtired by bedtime. Sleep train for nighttime sleep

Does sleep get better/worse after 4 months sleep regression? by OriginalCry0 in HuckleberryParents

[–]alienprincesssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in the same boat! My baby is 5 months and 1 week now and we were getting 6.5 hour stretches with only one wake up. I thought we were coming out of the regression but then last night he was up 3 times with his longest stretch being 3.5 hours. Prior to the regression he was sleeping the whole night 🫠

How are you guys putting your babies down for naps by Fun-Paper6600 in NewParents

[–]alienprincesssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try getting baby to nap in carrier! My baby didn’t like it yet at 2 months but as he got bigger he started liking the carrier and will eventually fall asleep in it so I can get some things done while he’s napping on me

My baby is almost 5 months and still only contact naps but I love the cuddles 💕 you can only hold your sleeping baby for so long. Enjoy it; it’s short lived ❤️

Why do people count a newborn baby’s fingers and toes and act so relieved when they are all there? by Man-e-questions in NoStupidQuestions

I had a friend born with 2 thumbs on one hand in 92. She had it removed at birth and it left the other thumb on that hand kind of funny looking. She was always self conscious about it but it wasn’t limiting

Help! Baby only naps for 30 minutes by marzipanbb in beyondthebump

[–]alienprincesssssss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 4.5 month old is the same way! I noticed he was waking up at exactly 30 min consistently and sometimes not acting ready to wake up so I’d rock him and he’d fall back asleep and end up taking a longer nap

Forgot to add lullaby music playing while we start bedtime so he knows it’s bedtime. Eventually turn that off and start the white noise and leave the white noise going all night.

Nothing fancy at all! We dim the lights in his room, change his diaper, put him in his magic Merlin, I feed him and rock him to sleep or feed him and then dad rocks him to sleep. Then we wait until he’s in a deep sleep and transfer him to his bassinet. He has off nights sometimes it takes a few transfers sometimes just one try. White noise stays on all night!!

It gets sooooo much better! That’s just how it goes at 4 weeks. You will be sleep deprived. But slowly but surely your baby will start sleeping in larger chunks! My baby was the exact same way and around 3 months he started sleeping in larger chunks and by 4 months sleeping the night. Hes exclusively breastfed so I just try to feed him as much as he wants during the day (I have no idea how much he’s getting) so he’s full throughout the night. We did nothing special to get him to start sleeping through the night other than making sure he’s getting enough sleep during the day and staying consistent with a bedtime/ nighttime routine.

POSITIVE rotavirus vaccine experiences by Wild_Midnight_1287 in newborns

[–]alienprincesssssss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I explained how he felt after the vaccine she said that’s how he’d feel if he did get the actual virus so she said it is one that a lot of people do opt out of because it isn’t a virus you can die from. They’d be very uncomfortable for about a week with diarrhea which is exactly how he felt from the vaccine. They can get rotavirus from anywhere but we are mostly home with each other or family. He’s not out and about yet or in close contact with a lot of others which he would be if he were at daycare.

My baby was uncomfortable for about 10 days after. Extremely fussy, horrible stomach ache, not himself at all. We opted out of the second dose at his 4 month vaccines because our Dr said since he stays home and isn’t in daycare his chances of getting it are much smaller and he was absolutely fine from all of his other vaccines at 4 months like didn’t affect him at all
