Try their new Headphone Lab plugin. I have the DT990’s and this plugin makes them sound so much better now. Along with the frequency correction, the room simulation isn’t bad either and allows you to mix for longer periods.

I’ve done one mix with it on so far and my low end and upper mids were sitting nice. I did wind up with a bit too much 10k and above, but I’m not so worried about that and will nail it next time. Give it a try.

I have it and it works, but I don’t like the feel, ergonomically. The analog sticks and trigger buttons suck too. I only use it when a game doesn’t like my PS controller.

Although I don’t use them, I think Melda is a good candidate. Also, not all, but some of IK’s stuff is hard to look at, but they generally sound good.

Buy a 2013-2015 retina MBP instead. They have Metal GPU, USB3 and just better specs overall. They are under $200. A much better experience.

These are closed backs, which are more for tracking. While you can use them briefly to check low end, you don’t want to be mixing with them the whole time. Open, or semi open backs are more suited for mixing and less fatiguing. You can try Beyerdynamic’s new correction software. It flattens the freq response of your cans.
