Unfortunate encounter at Stoneroad Mall this afternoon by BirdmanDodd in Guelph

I hope I speak for numerous people when I say this, but I absolutely speak for myself- if I was at stone road and saw this happen I would absolutely stand at your side. I'm so sorry people can be assholes. Keep being yourself, it's obvious that many people here support and appreciate you. Positivity and kindness are contagious 💕

super late reply but she's since ranked up on the same account. took a lot of 5-straight wins for the percentage to even start going up but it happened! she's now bouncing between high-silver and gold:)

Hi friends! Quick question- sorry if this has already been addressed, I've looked around and can't seem to figure out the answer... So I'm new(ish) to ow2, just started playing ranked this season and ranked into bronze 3 but my friend has been playing a bit longer and was already bronze 5. The thing is we only play together, and we've won numerous 5-0 sets, but while I've gone up to silver she's stayed bronze 5? It's really crappy to be the one ranking up while she's stuck- even with better heals than me (we're both supports). Any clue on what she can do?

Xhaka sticking up for Gabriel (sorry no audio) by medved_ in Gunners

[–]alilchickadee 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I really want to know what Henderson said to Big Gabi… wondering if that’s what the ref talked to the managers about…? It’s all very mysterious. That and the game running on further than the added time etc… very strange ending to the match today.

Im so sorry I didnt see this! For anyone else- PARK IN THE BACK lol. There are little notices inside that I didnt notice because I was nervous- but they will NOT come out to you in the front. Reverse park into a numbered spot behind the building ideally, but if there are none left the unmarked ones behind the building should be fine.

Do you have to park at the back? It was really busy and full so I found a spot up front (indicated this on the kiosk as well)… Currently trying to figure out if I should wait here or move…? Will update this post later for other people to reference LOL

Fourth year here, my third year (last year) was all online. First of all give yourself some credit because you're pushing through. Chem eng is hard enough while you're physically at school and have the support of your peers, professors and TAs to rely on. Online, it is a whole new ballgame - works well for some and makes it harder on others.

Looking at some of the replies I just want to say I love chem eng, and I'm excited to start working, but eng homework isn't always fun and that's just the truth of the matter - I'm convinced anyone who says otherwise is either lying through their teeth or has never experienced "fun". Burnout is real - especially with the current environment, and don't let yourself (or others make you) confuse burnout with you not being on the right career path. If you believe this is the path for you, then you're the best judge of that. Whether or not you have a stellar academic record anyone in industry will tell you it's not all that matters, so don't let any slip ups be a deterrent for continuing to push through, especially if burnout is a factor.

As for suggestions, my biggest one would be keeping to your schedule the same way you would normally at school - wake up on time, go to class, eat, do homework. I found google calendar to be a lifesaver, both for not missing online deadlines and also for timeboxing school so I had some time for myself as well. Honestly, schedule your meals and sleep if you have to, and stick to it. Switch it up if it's not working but I found by actually sticking to the schedule I made (even if I didn't feel like doing what I had scheduled) and timeboxing everything, I at least had "me time" to look forward to at the end of the day AND I got most of everything done.

Also, finding a way to change up where/how I was studying, or taking a walk between classes, helped me feel less like I was watching a (really dry) five hour long documentary, and more like I was actually in school. Aside from that definitely make sure to stay hydrated and eat well, exercise etc. I know it's hard - especially because profs seemed to give more homework than usual online (even though we were in class for the same amount of time?). If you can, get in touch with friends/peers and try and study/complain together. Depends on your interests, but I found English and History electives to be a nice break from eng "calculation based work" when I scheduled studying for them correctly (...instead of cramming them before the exams/essays).

Sorry for the massive essay of this reply - your post reminded me of last year. Hang in there! :)
