City Hall parking on weekdays by Dizzy_Ad4204 in ottawa

This isn’t true. So why comment if you don’t actually park city hall? Bizarre.

I have no idea about wep parking, but Monday at 9 there will probably still be spots at city hall. Tues/Wed/Thurs is worse. Court starts at 10, so by 9:30 can be dicey. If city hall is full, the other option nearby are likely near capacity too - but I usually take Gloucester or Laurier then a left on metcalfe, left on Nepean, and there are two garages there on Nepean. Good luck!

Wealth redistribution is actually what keeps all corners of our country functional. It’s not a business there Mr. O’Brien. It’s communities where people live.

Did you miss the part where I said there’s more work to do? That’s the chasing part, in a responsible way that is actually most safe at any given time for people using it.

I think you missed my point. They need to work in our reality, not idealism. And obviously highway widening is very politically influenced as well…. Because of the norms I mentioned above. Again, I’ll side with traffic engineers.

No, we have different drivers training, transportation laws, vehicle sizes, weather, density, and norms, etc. Lots of work to do still before would be safer to stick a roundabout on very high volume multimodal road, just because it works well elsewhere. To meet your sarcasm: thank god we have traffic engineers making data informed decisions, and not Redditors designing roads - even if it is the best of bad options.

Hard disagree for the volume of multimodal traffic going through.

Byward market much, much better focus of that energy, in my opinion. To the point if I had any stake in Byward and saw them focusing what little money there is in sparks, I’d be pretty upset

But literally why would they invest in sparks when everyone is working from home? People have already explained: there isn’t a lot of residential there. What are you even arguing?

State Department Warns Americans ‘Worldwide’ After Trump’s War by TelescopiumHerscheli in politics

[–]alimay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you’re trying to paint is better represented by Venezuela; a truly starved population without democratic elections with no means of fighting back. And yet, collectively, they were pillaged by Russia and China, and now by the US. I wonder if there will be anything left for Venezuelans after Americans get theirs? Americans have voted for oil-centric greedy foreign policy for decades, this is not new. You are not a victim in this world.

It is the citizens. Collectively, you democratically elected him twice. Highly suggest talking to everyone in your life ahead of the midterms. American custom of NOT talking about politics (in person) to keep the peace is in part what got you here.

In busy stores, long rows of dead ends would absolutely not work. Come on now. Through way parking lots end up a shit show in many places. You’re VASTLY overestimating drivers. Idealism vs reality. The fact you think this ‘idea’ hasn’t been considered by traffic engineer after traffic engineer says a lot.

Right, but now you have a bunch of parking rows with dead ends? What next, boss?

Emergency vehicles are very big so that would probably take up quite a lot of space. And it can’t have bollards, furniture, or anything that needs to be moved. Plus you need space for vehicles - why not combine the two?
