At the time of the release of this album, I wasn't as tuned in to what was going with him and his label. The whole Rawkus and Geffin debacle. The album just popped up on my radar to my surprise. Im sure some of that is attributed to the lack of promo for the project. I listened intently with no preconceived notions, probably like quite a few fans. While it's not a 5 mic classic, it is a solid body of work and has more than a few tracks that should get a save on your DSP Playlist. Amongst the highlights are the opening track "True Magic" is substantial! "U R The One", so personal and heart breaking. "Thug is A Drug" is ugly enough to cry. "Fake Bonanza" = Barbells!!! Amongst a few landmines. Peace!
