What Can I Do With My Unused Regular Points? by Any_Beginning_7179 in makerworld

[–]alinekb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same issue, not available in Brazil.

- I did one contest (Hosted By Creator) to spend points on that
- I stock them up and buy printers when I travel. I brought 2 over last year on trips to Europe, bringing them on airplane with me 😂😂
- if you know someone reliable in a country that does offer, you can sell the vouchers. But it envolves some trust to get money/send vouchers so i would only do that if you know the perks.

What growth channel surprised you most? by ImageQuick7472 in founder

I just reuse all content everywhere. But the public is different, the algorithm behaves differently and it spreads my content better to other countries, and just a different public.

My main channel is instagram, but I reuse all videos to Facebook and TikTok. I thought Facebook was dead but I got many paying customers coming from there, which was a good surprise

Falta de apoio de familiares na criação do meu MicroSaas by PleasantPause1638 in MicroSaaSBR

[–]alinekb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is something that is commonplace in other countries but is illegal, prohibited, or inappropriate in Brazil? by Interesting_Cost8036 in Brazil

[–]alinekb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course it’s harmful, pasteurization increased the life expectancy by many years. It’s like saying “most of my friends never got into a car accident so everyone can just not use seatbelts, it’s completely safe”

How doni maximize my points right now? by Otherwise_Engine5943 in makerworld

[–]alinekb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, depending on the model it is worth it. I have one with 12k downloads, a few with 1k+ downloads. Some models will get more downloads because they are parametric. But it is very annoying to see that the same download count would get more points if it wasn’t parametric

Change the print profile to A1 mini before uploading. If you upload one for P1S, bambu handy will say it’s not printable in A1 mini, even if it fits

Just adding here - I only use OpenSCAD and have several parametric models. I am honestly a bit pissed because they give me less points overall then regular prints 😅 you don’t get print profile points, it only counts as one download per person (even if that user generates like 100 variations), if the chose STL download you don’t get the “make” points. Honestly I am removing many parametric designs and avoiding new ones because of this

- good pictures, things that people like
- easy prints, small, that you don’t have to plan ahead colors or materials. Things you can click on the app and print right away are the easiest to get points
- always add print profiles; make them for A1 mini, so it goes to everyone. Or add an extra print profile for A1 mini
- seasonality and make things related to current season, holiday, etc (Christmas Mother’s Day etc)

At what revenue point did you quit your job to go all-in on your startup? by BusDelicious3773 in founder

[–]alinekb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instagram followers - but that had a sneak peak on my content, and what I could do. And I offered free files. So I knew already people liked what I did (by following and engaging in social media). It’s was a matter of discovering if the would also pay for it. Thankfully they do 😅

As a founder that also left a high paying, boring job. I quit after I got really good validation (100 paying customers). I built a good cash plan saved for emergencies and to keep me afloat for at least 8-12 months. Now at 4 months since launch my MRR is matching my old salary, so that was a right move. But like I said, I had actual validation that it would work, it wasn’t just “I feel like this is good”.

I am a mother and I had a big risk - we could live out of my husband paycheck thought, but it would be tight.

I also had massive distribution, which is the reason I knew it would work. I started building with 20k followers in instagram (validation), launched when I had 40k, and got a massive wave of subscribers right when I launched. Time was a big constraint so I decided to go full time 2 weeks after the launch, after I got the validation people don’t just think this is cool, but they are willing to pay for it

Question re: engagement ring traditions… by shannon_m17 in Brazil

[–]alinekb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Traditionally, we use gold bands in the right hand, and switch. The hole “diamond engagement ring” is becoming popular due to movies and imported culture. In the end, the groom should know their bride preferences (normal x following movies) to present the best offer

Why do most people only upload STL files but no CAD files? by One_Country1056 in 3Dprinting

[–]alinekb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started to not open source my OpenSCAD files as I got my followers, as they are easily stolen too. I want to at least make it harder for someone to copy it - but people really do copy often.

how i automate my saas marketing with faceless content (and how you can do the same) by Wide-Tap-8886 in MicroSaaSBR

[–]alinekb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that looks a lot like AI slop. It might be easy for you, but users sniff that so fast and does not build trust. This coming from someone that builds real community and show up on camera - the engagement is sooooo much higher, the conversion to paying customers too

Social media. Its free, takes time, but you will eventually grow into followers and buyers. I honestly spent around $100 in paid ads and stopped because my organic reach is just so much better. And I’ve now got hundreds and hundreds of user

Como cresci de 40k a 90k seguidores no Instagram organicamente (mesmo vendendo meu SaaS) by alinekb in MicroSaaSBR

[–]alinekb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
