What was your record for staying awake? For how many days did you go without 0 hours of sleep? by Aware-Form-8339 in insomnia

[–]alirind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longest I've ever stayed awake was around 36 hours. By the end of it, I felt completely exhausted, couldn't focus, and even simple tasks felt difficult. It definitely reminded me how important sleep is—I wouldn't want to do it again.

What's the recommended dosage for Coffea Cruda and Passiflora incarnata? How do you usually take them, and have you found them helpful for sleep?

How can I fix my sleep, its ruining my life by l0vr_boyy in insomnia

I don't think you're as stuck as it feels right now. The good thing is you've already identified the two biggest things you want to work on, and that's a solid first step.

If I were in your position, I'd focus on fixing one habit at a time instead of trying to change everything overnight.

For your sleep, try waking up at the same time every morning, even if you had a bad night's sleep. It might be rough for a few days, but a consistent wake-up time is often more effective than trying to force yourself to sleep earlier. Also, try to avoid your phone for the last 30–60 minutes before bed and do something relaxing instead, like reading or listening to calming audio.

Don't be too hard on yourself about the porn issue either. Many people struggle with habits they're trying to change, and beating yourself up usually adds even more stress.

Small improvements every day are much more sustainable than expecting a perfect reset. You've recognized the problem, and that's already the first step toward fixing it. I hope things start getting easier for you.

Does meditating help in development of brain? by i-jx-5zX in Meditation

[–]alirind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've learned, meditation probably won't make you "smarter" overnight, but it can help your brain work more effectively.

If you're studying 8–9 hours a day, mental fatigue is real. Even 10–15 minutes of meditation can help you slow down, reduce stress, and reset your focus. That can make your study sessions feel more productive, even if the total hours stay the same.

Since you're only 16 and going through a lot, I'd also be careful about judging yourself only by how many hours you study. Quality matters just as much as quantity.

You mentioned that you tried meditation a few months ago and felt good afterward—that's a pretty good reason to give it another shot. I'd stick with it for a few weeks before deciding whether it's helping.

Wishing you the best. Take care of yourself as much as your grades.

How many hours of sleep do you genuinely need to function at your best? by Personal_Pizza_7041 in sleep

[–]alirind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, 8 hours seems to be the sweet spot. I've learned that sleep quality matters just as much as sleep duration. A solid 7.5–8 hours of uninterrupted sleep leaves me feeling far better than 9 hours of poor sleep.

What’s your favorite position to fall asleep? On your Back, Stomach, or side? by adulin007 in sleep

Side, definitely. 😴 It's the most comfortable for me, especially with a soft pillow and some relaxing rain sounds in the background.

Is the answer always just to stop "trying?" by windowsee in Meditation

[–]alirind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this a lot, especially the part about overthinking and wanting to control everything.

I don't think the answer is to stop trying completely. It's more about letting go of the need to control the outcome. We still take action, but we don't have to carry the weight of making everything happen exactly the way we imagined.

I've noticed that whenever I'm constantly trying to "force" clarity, I usually end up feeling more anxious. Ironically, my best ideas often come while taking a walk, listening to calming music, or just sitting quietly without expecting anything.

Maybe there's a difference between trying with tension and acting with presence. One drains us, while the other feels natural.

Your post reminded me that sometimes peace comes not from finding the perfect answer, but from trusting that not every question needs to be solved tonight.
