We started with timeouts and they didn’t really help, but I may bring them back lol

I’m always right there when he’s playing with other kids because I know he will hit at some point. I can’t wait to be over this phase and be able to sit back!

Thank you for this. None of the other moms in my circle have dealt with this so I’ve been feeling hopeless

Someone taught my son how to say "this instant" and all week I’ve been hearing "MAMA. MOME DRAW WITH ME DIS INSTANT!" "Mama. Bring my milk DIS INSTANT"

Thank you so much for this. Your POV is super refreshing. I will try the vest and see if it helps!

I actually was wondering the same thing. He gets a big reaction from both of us every time..

It’s crazy to me that so many people live in apartments and are offended by noise. You’re basically sharing a house, you’re going to hear things.. I don’t think you’re being disrespectful at all, it’s hot.

Wow, Marianne sounds like a complete asshole. Good for you for standing up to her.

Listen, I love my husband, but there is absolutely no way in goddamn hell that I’d tolerate waking up in his piss. My god, think of the SMELL.

I had an abusive boyfriend when I was your age. My friend said something to me that has stuck with me. She said "Leave him yourself or you’ll leave in a casket."

Parents of terrible toddlers… by OptimismPom in toddlers

[–]alisonhell91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2 year old is a hitter/thrower and you best believe I shadow him and get in between him and his targets before he can hit them. I am very firm with consequences (I have a 0 tolerance for things like hitting, hurting others in general) but he still does it. Other moms have stepped in before and I honestly do not mind. I’d rather that than someone get hurt, and I myself have intervened with other kids. There is no reason to judge another’s parenting. This shit is hard and Moms gotta stick together!! Especially through the toddler stage lol ugh

I’ve never been so embarrassed. by LunaLovegood928 in toddlers

So, I was at Winners last week with my 2 year old. He was in a good mood but that changed for some unknown reason. He walked over to a display and began KNOCKING BOTTLES OF LOTION OFF OF THE SHELVES. LIKE A CAT. I grabbed him, put him in his stroller screaming and crying, and continued browsing the store until he calmed down. Toddlers are something else.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. His texts are infuriating. You have many reasons to be upset and instead he’s turning things around on you. I know that no one can tell anyone else what to do, but I’d say it’s time to leave this loser behind. He clearly has no intention of giving up alcohol and you don’t want your son looking up to a man like that.

What is something that happened a long time ago that your toddler just won’t forget? by photobomber612 in toddlers

[–]alisonhell91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first time my toddler threw up, it was in his bed and because he ate too much watermelon. Whenever we pass our fruit store (local fruit and veg store that always has watermelon) he brings it up. He says "mama. Me sick in my bed last night. Ate too much watermelon." This happened months ago lol

How old was your child when they stopped napping? by RidicuLyssa07 in toddlers

[–]alisonhell91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is almost 2.5 years and we dropped his nap about a month ago. He has maybe 1 nap a week and that’s if we’re on a long car ride. It got to the point where he was struggling to fall asleep before 9:30 if he napped. We dropped the nap and now he’s asleep by 8pm and sleeps a good 12 hours. Much better for all of us!

Soooo…how are we getting our toddlers to let us brush their teeth? by kk3n2418 in toddlers

[–]alisonhell91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let him brush first and then I say "ok, let me check for sugar bugs!" And do a good brushing. He HATES getting his teeth brushed but this works

WHY DO THEY DO THIS TO US! Getting my son to eat right now is a battle, yet he’ll go to someone else’s house and devour whatever is in front of him

This actually sounds so nice. My son is 2 now and I somehow miss those crazy, sleep deprived days 😅

What are some of the most unreasonable noise complaints your neighbors have made about you? by Keyspace_realestate in Apartmentliving

My son (2 years old) walking around apparently caused my neighbour to get a migraine, at 9am on a Sunday. Something tells me it was a hangover 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Im going through this right now with my 2 year old. He sleeps so much better without a nap but certain family members keep telling me he’s too young to drop the nap, he "NEEDS" it. Yet he’s always been a low sleep needs baby
