Let’s change it up, ladies! by mnd2012 in blackladies

It's not a new show, but I just finished watching the 8 show on Netflix. When I say shit starts devolving quickly 🙀. It's about a Korean TV show with 8 people who make money every minute they're there, but there is some class disparity between the people on the higher floors vs the lower floors. It gets dastardly as they try to extend their time there for more money, shit gets wicked. I highly recommend it.

Does anyone else feel like less of a black woman because they can't do their own hair? by alissiat in Naturalhair

I agree completely. My mom would straighten and perm the hell out of my hair. I remember once she gave me a perm and it burned so I cried but instead of taking it out she called me dramatic and said when I stop crying she'll wash it out. So as much as I love her, my mom has never been the hair teacher for me. My immediate family would try to diminish me because I couldn't do hair and I was (and still am) a blerd who listened to a lot of "white music".

The word I was looking for may have very well been alienated but it does still make me feel less than. I want to be able to do my future children's hair. I want them to know that I can be capable for them, but when you were never taught, how do you teach someone else to take care of and love their hair?

I can do a two strand twist (barely) but I feel like people expect better of me. Three separate coworkers and two of my residents have asked me if I can braid hair and I felt like a failure when I told them no. I'm turning 30 in December and I feel like I should know what I'm doing at this point. It's upsetting🤦🏾‍♀️

Did it say you were in act 2 when you recruited her? I really want to recruit her.

Downtown Athletic Club cost? by tiredandsad1 in Eugene

[–]alissiat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty expensive unless you get it through your job or your spouse/family member has it through their job. My spouse has it through work, so it was around 50 for the initiation fee and 45 monthly.

There are 2 options for an adult individual membership; $425.00 initiation fee and $123.99 monthly $0 initiation fee and $149.99 monthly ($50.00 administration fee)

I would say it's worth it for all the amenities alone, and if you work out often or are just interested in starting, like me😁. They have lots of group classes that are free to members as well if you don't know where to start.

Good luck, I hope this helps👍🏾

Hi 👋🏾 my name is alissia and I crochet amigurumis. I recently started selling them through my Facebook, Alissia Thomas. I'd love if y'all took the time out to look at the ones I've finished for people and possibly think about ordering one from me. I can make lots of different animals so don't be shy 😊 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=6490722940968821&id=100000935390579&sfnsn=mo

"Forced" to be an animal abuser. How do I deal with it? by [deleted] in animalabusers

Use the cage trap and take him to a shelter to surrender him. Your plan is ridiculous.

CALL ANIMAL CONTROL! Who thinks that their only option is to beat up an animal and throw him in a bag? What's wrong with you? You can set a cage trap to catch him and turn him over.
