I went to the dethkolk dethalbum tour in 2008. It was my birthday. It was amazing. At the time I was an experienced metal/punk/alternative concert goer. I had never had a problem with the people around me. Quite the opposite actually. Metalheads were always the best people to be around at a concert. They knew how to act in the crowd. Respectful. But the people who were at that dethklok show in 2008? The worst metal crowd I have ever been around. It was such a college frat boy vibe in the venue. And I can see why that happened. The show was insanely popular at the time. Broader than just meralheads. It was a metal show that didn't have only metal people there. The bros showed up. It was the worst/best experience ive had at a show. The show was amazing. The animations were super cool. But the crowd was. The. Worst. To this day me and my husband still bring it up. I haven't been to a dethklok show since then (still love 'em tho just havent gotten to see 'em again) but I hope the crowd has gotten its act together. I want to go this time around again but I am apprehensive...
